Yeah I wouldn't necessarily call Wikipedia's review a "spoiler" but they are in-depth like that so I got over it. And about part 2 is it another year or is it the same game?
Ah, well I rarely read wikipedia articles on books, I just usually work through word of mouth. After seeing the trailer, I read the article "The Hunger Games universe" to have some background on the districts and it definitely has spoilers.
For example, it says that Peeta and Katniss both survive.
Part II is the same book, same game, but Part I is called "The Tributes" and is more about how they are chosen, Part II is when they are in the arena.

And second, I'm confused. You mean there's no fighting until book 2? ***? I feel this is funny on my part because I have the book (I bought it from Barnes and Noble) but skimmed through it. Weird, I know. Anyway, I can't wait to finish the book then start the movie.

Book one has two parts and there is fighting in the first book, but not until you reach part two, which is the actual games. I wouldn't have skimmed through the book before reading it because that could give things away, but it's still a great read.
Understood. But I'm goofy like that. I will read it again when I get finished with Brave New World. Either way count me in.
Loving the first book, its so interesting and easy to read. I already absolutely love it... it's awesome. I just got up to the part where
Katniss kills glimmer and the other girl with the wasp hive thing, and she just got the bow and arrow, so it's getting exciting.

LMAO i thought i was only one thinking of it as Team Gale and Team Peeta, but yah im Team Peeta all the way.
Hahaha in the first book I was thinking about it like that, but after reading the full series I'm team Peeta, because he's my favorite character lol. I can 100% relate to him. Either way, happy we're team Peeta! Haha
So, i wanted to go to sleep early tonite and i was going to put Catching Fire down for the night, but something awesome happened, and i realized i have like only eighty pages left. So, it looks like its gunna be a long night. LMAOOO a long good night.

But I have to find a place that sells Catching Fire and book 3.
Like I said earlier, The Hunger Games has some big shoes to fill and may not be as good as this: Battle Royale Trailer (With Subs) - YouTube
Um, that looks...interesting.
I finished reading all three last week and this is one of the best book series I've read. Can't wait for the movie, maybe it will be the next big franchise.
I haven't gotten a chance to read these books yet (still mourning over the loss of Harry Potter), but a huge portion of the movie was shot within miles of my house. I'm going to see it just to see how they used this area as the location for the games.

Without giving away any major spoilers - one of the most important parts of the books is that District 12 is a mining district and used to be part of Appalachia.

I'm in Asheville and the cast/crew were here most of the summer. A few of the bigger named stars were spotted multiple times enjoying bars and such downtown. As far as mining, we're in the mountains so no wonder they picked this region. Can't wait!

Im reading the girl with the dragon tattoo now, but it doesnt mask the hole in my heart left by the hunger games. :'(
Yes, North Carolina. I think I'm going to start reading these tomorrow.
I know I like Battle Royale and LOTF better but as for this I'm getting sick over the hype of this. It seems like most of my IMDB incoming news and the like involves either this, Twilight vs. THG wars or trailers and what have you. Its going to be really funny if and when this movie flops.

It's getting the news on IMDB because it's anticipated to become a really big movie.

Just got done reading the 3rd book today and unlike Twilight, this has some really decent messages and is not as shallow. So I hope it is very successful.
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks Twilight is shallow as well lol.
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks Twilight is shallow as well lol.
I was a hardcore Twilight fan until they made the movies...
The first book in the trilogy was the best... The message and writing aren't anything near twilight. I'm totally anticipating the movie, I hope there's no cheesy factor and if you look at the trailers and sneak peek there isn't. I'm positive the fin will be a success.
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks Twilight is shallow as well lol.
Be real, even half of the fans know it's shallow. LOL. But yeah, I like that in THG, it's more realistic too... it's not like Katniss walks out of the whole thing without a scratch and perfect. (Not sure if this is a spoiler, doesn't seem like one though. Sorry if it is). But yeah, other than How to kill a sparkly vampire and how to make a teenage, hormonal werewolf angry, the only valuable moral in Twilight is to fight for the person you love... and the way it is brought about is also ****** IMO, whereas in THG, you feel like there is selflessness and a fight to survive. Sorry to compare the two, (because really they shouldn't be compared), but just showing that there is enough of a valuable and strong plot without just a "lovesick storyline" to hold up the book, so that's why I hope it doesn't suffer the same fate as the Twilight movies.
The first book in the trilogy was the best...
After reading all 3 I concur. It also appears that Twilight stars are banned from some event involving The Hunger Games. Can't say I'm surprised.
Anyone geared up to go see this? Because I know I am!!! I'm going at midnight. I've been hearing many great things about the movie, including it's one of the best book to movie adaptions people have seen in ages. Can't wait!
After reading all 3 I concur. It also appears that Twilight stars are banned from some event involving The Hunger Games. Can't say I'm surprised.
Why would the Twilight stars be banned from the event? Everyone keeps telling me to read these... I may just give in.
Why would the Twilight stars be banned from the event? Everyone keeps telling me to read these... I may just give in.
YOu're asking the wrong person. I read what I read on IMDB. I suggest Bella you do the same. I at first thought the were joking too. Also, the tickets in brooklyn are out so I am nervous to go there with teenboppers and fangirls anyway. Ill wait until the 30th
