I have the file on my computer in .VOB format but I need to switch it to MPEG or AVI so I can upload it to you tube! Basically I need a free way to convert a VOB file that is 867 MB!

How is it illegal? There are already clips from challenges on YouTube that have been up for years and Viacom has never taken them down. Infact there are hundreds of videos with clips from TV shows on YouTube. I'm not uploading full episodes.

You might want to check, just to be sure, if the videos are or aren't copyrighted. Viacom has much better things to do than to scour YouTube all day for old challenges that have been posted, but you never know...
If they are copyrighted, then uploading them to a third party source is considered illegal and you can be punished.

I'm willing to take the risk, because I doubt anything will happen from uploading a simple 3 minute clip. I've uploaded a fight from BOTSexes before that was like 2 years ago and nothing happened. If it wasn't allowed to be up, they would simply delete it like they've done before.
I'm just asking how to convert VOB files to AVI or MPEG, that's all.
