Grey's: Ep. 506: Life During Wartime
Wooo hooo ladies our Army McStud is back for good tonight! I loved this episode. (Okay I pretty much love all Grey's episodes). But I really thought it was overall both exciting and entertaining. I reeeeeally like the addition of Dr. ****** (I will continue to refer to him as such). The pig experiment was pretty shocking. Not so much that it was done (because hey, they do that stuff in the real world....and on more that just pigs), but that it was shown on ABC Primetime. Only because I know how certain animal rights groups (that shall remain unnamed) tend to freak out and cause a fuss over certain things. But enough about that! It was neat to watch, and for the first time we saw Christina really get involved and work with her interns. Sure it took her awhile to warm up to it, but that's the Christina way! I'm not surpised at all that Izzie took issue with the tactic because well, she's Izzie. And speaking of Izzie. I am really finding her and Alex quite charming. If she can change him for the better, I'm hoping he can do the same for her. They have a good chemistry and comfort with eachother that I feel is apparent just from watching the two actors. And I really love that Alex can admit he's not good at this whole "boyfriend" thing, but he's willing to try. And when Izzie realized he wanted to "go steady"...I thought that whole revelation was really cute. I thought Meredith was far less annoying this ep than usual. Maybe she should play with dolls more. It was kinda neat almost seeing her revert back (somewhat) to a young girl when she got that doll in her hands. And hey! It saved the little sick girl! And speaking of little sick girl...Bailey is really stepping up to the plate this season. I've always loved her character, but this, this seems to be a new Bailey. Maybe it's because Cheif gave her permission to "be him", ie, not be afraid to take charge and make those executive decisions. I'm really impressed with the way she handled Hahn too. YES, Bailey deserved the credit, Bailey convinced everyone to make it work, and Bailey wouldn't let anyone give up on the girl. It was great to see her in the end celebrating with the family that things went well. You know she felt good. And George. Well, lets just say I didn't miss not seeing him most of this episode. Next week: Oh God, Denny. Denny flashbacks!! I can't handle it....I'm stocking up on my tissues already. I love you Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
I enjoyed this episode, although I disagree about your assessment of Meredith. Giving her accessories is not going to change who she is as a character. You can't put lipstick on a pig. Alex and Izzy rock as a couple and I really enjoyed how she has mellowed him out. I think this is the first week in the history of the show that Alex did not have an ******* moment. Very touching at the end and I was definitely cheering them on. I still hate Callie and Hahn. There is just not real chemistry there and forcing the issue is making it worse. I would say that this pairing is almost as bad if not worse than George/Izzy. It is so uncomfortably bad, that I actually fast forwarded through some of it. Speaking of George, he needs to hurry up and get with Lexie! p.s. I love doctor ******! Especially because he is bringing out the best in Christina.
You are probably are right, yet this is a lovely shade of pink (With apologies to Perez Hilton for "borrowing" his signature amateur style of drawing on photos)
You are probably are right, yet this is a lovely shade of pink
Well you can, but it is still a pig. ;) Speaking of pigs, all that pig stuff last night was kind of disturbing. First knifing all those poor live pigs strapped to a table and then having to put them down at the end after they had been saved. I'm guess that episode did not score well with PETA.
I'm guess that episode did not score well with PETA.
Didn't you notice when the screen would say that no animals were harmed in the making of this episode after ever commercial break? I think that was for PETA

But I will take the opportunity to say this: we need that kind of experimentation in order to make strides in medical treatment. Sure, it may have been hard to watch, but those were completely fake pigs. I'm all about respecting animals, and I certainly don't think we need to test cosmetics and that kind of crap on them, but it really is the closest thing to using actual human test subjects. ***On a strange note, I was working at my desk today and we had a new paramedic student come in to get consent to try and start a line on a patient, and she said this was her first time working on a real person and it was "wayyy different than using the mannequins". Just thought it was an interesting and timely comment.

Stop it!! :sofa: I love pigs!!! Especially next to my scrambled eggs! :girl_blum:
Listen, I am all for bacon and eggs.... ...but brutally puncturing a living animal helplessly tied down to a table does not seem to be the most humane thing to do. I am taking Izzy's side on this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYRz4i19vsA
