Gone Too Far: DJ AM - MTV
It looks like DJ AM was just finishing up a new intervention reality show called Gone Too Far - set to air on MTV in October. I struggled for years as a drug addict and was fortunate to get help when I asked for it. I have managed to live a clean and sober life, something that takes work and something that I pride myself on. Gone Too Far is my platform to help people, like I was helped--by giving back in a way."
It is an unfortunate irony that it seems his demise might have been caused by this struggle he so recently spoke about.
TMZ: DJ AM Dies Near Prescription Bottles Celebrity disc jockey Adam Goldstein, known as DJ AM, was found dead Friday in his New York City apartment, TMZ said. He was a Las Vegas club fixture and had built a successful music empire that has all come to an end with word of his death. He was scheduled to spin at the Palms Resort Casino's Rain Nightclub, where he was the resident DJ who spun on Friday nights.

This makes it all the more sad if his cause of death turns out to really be drugs...

That last tweet is chilling. All is quiet on the Nicole Richie front, has she made a statement? Travis is really upset.

I heard about the video, haven't seen it yet. I just seen some Tweets from Travis. So sad. Can't believe Nicole hasn't said anything.

She is probibaly still processing it. It must be very upsetting for her since she almost married him.

Blink182 also cancelled a show to grieve. :(
It's a shame that he's gone. He will be missed by many. I head his Ex-GF, along with RIhanna I believe Broke down in tears when they heard the news. Hell, Rihanna didn't even know of it until she came out of a showing of the Lion King musical. (info via TMZ.com)
CNN is reporting that his show is still up in the air. So, MTV might go forward with it. Fate of DJ AM show unclear as speculation over death grows - CNN.com I'm a big fan of Intervention on A&E so I might watch if they go forward. I know it would be weird in that he died. But I guess that is an even greater lesson when all is said and done.

It kinda soidifies the fact that addiction is something you battle with your entire life, there is no switch to flip and remove it. I am actually a big fan of Adam's so it made me really sad to hear about all of this.
She has, just not on Twitter. She was on Larry King Live the other night.
What did she say?
What did she say?
Oh I don't exactly remember, I wasn't really paying attention. But she did talk about his addiction and how when they met he was clean and she wasn't, or maybe it was vice versa...I dunno, it might be on YouTube.

I just seen some commercials for this...it looks so good.
I've been seeing the commercials, too, and it's so sad when they show DJ AM breaking down and crying.
The commercials are very good. It is such a horrible situation:(
It's going to be a hard series to watch, but I do want to see it. I'll just keep the tissues nearby. :-/

Hope everyone's watching tonight at 10.
I can't wait:)
I'm watching. It's pretty tough to watch, though.
This is difficult to watch.
LOL @ "Don't pawn me" on the iPod. Aww...bittersweet. Edit: The end is killing me. :-( I'm so glad they decided to air this.

That was too sad to watch, I don't usually watch stuff like that because I'm a big bawl baby. I don't know I can continue to watch it but it was really good. It got me to me.

I'm shocked that their aren't as many posts in this thread and more people aren't interested in it.
Me too! I was expecting a lot of interest in this show, here. It's a great show! And I was fighting back tears when the girl, afterwards, was talking about how DJ AM's legacy would live on in her. I hope so. She really came a long way.

Well, I'm on the west coast, so it hasn't even aired here yet. But to be honest, I don't really plan on watching it. I'm not so into these kind of shows (rehab, interventions, etc), too depressing for my tastes. Especially in this case, considering the circumstances..
The first episode was really good. I thinks its going to be a good show. Its tough to watch at times because you can see the hurt that these people are going through. I think this is the type of show Mtv needed to do. Showing people dealing with REAL problems, not whiny rich kids crying about minor stuff(the hills and the city). I enjoy watching the hills but shows like this help keep things in perspective.
Wow, tonight's episode got me. It's so hard at the end when they show the addict speaking about DJ AM after he's gone. Tonight's was especially difficult to watch. Did anyone else see it?
