Golden Globes show canceled
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has finally announced that this Sunday's Golden Globe telecast on NBC and champagne-soaked dinner are now cancelled. In its place will be an hour-long HFPA press conference covered live by NBC News beginning at 6:00 PST. "We are all very disappointed that our traditional awards ceremony will not take place this year and that millions of viewers worldwide will be deprived of seeing many of their favorite stars celebrating 2007’s outstanding achievements in motion pictures and television,” said Jorge Camara, president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. “We take some comfort, however, in knowing that this year’s Golden Globe Award recipients will be announced on the date originally scheduled.” Source:EW
OMG! THIS IS A FIRST.
Yes, totally crazy. This strike is slowing killing off TV as we know it.
I think this is just really stupid. The actors, directors, and all the other people deserve to have their night. And I don't believe that the members of SAG showing up would have had any negative impact for the WGA strike. It's all a ******* contest.
The thing is, they (SAG) are going on strike this summer (probably) and if the writers strike is resolved for some reason by then, they are going to want the favor returned -which means scripted TV still might not come back!
Are you serious??? This whole year is going to kind of suck!
