They told him to be a villain...overboard? Maybe...entertaining to watch? Very much so!
I liked that scientist girl...she seems like a really good talker and I think she could do well!
I'm already not a fan. I found it a little too over the top.
LOL some of the stuff I saw today made the challenges look like Shakespeare!
I watched a youtube video of the live feed for about 1 minute and was bored to tears. The glass house voice that gives them directions was so annoying I couldn't listen anymore. I decided to watch the show last night and I actually liked it. I can't stand Alex. His idea of a villain is way off in my book. Now granted I only watched the show and not the live feeds, but it seems to me that he is only going after the women and calling the girl fat? That's his idea of being an epic villain? I hope he leaves so a real villain can emerge.
This wasn't the worst reality show I've ever seen, but there are plenty of flaws. The voting process was completely manufactured. The rules are not clear. The show tries too hard. The majority of contestants most assuredly have agents and are trying to break into acting.
I'll still tune in for another episode or two, but this is doomed to be a one season [strike]wonder[/strike] blunder.

I, too, have seen worse -- at least 10 seasons of Big Brother were worse in many respects.

This is exactly why I hate the summer season. It's just easier to get attached then bam! its gone.

Ouch
It is not as bad as one would think. While adjusted, it is still a huge increase in the time slot for ABC.
That said, I think there is nowhere to go but down.
Ratings don't really matter here. It is one and done.

This show had potential, but they just did too much. There's no need for America to vote on EVERYTHING. Personally, I'll never understand why any producers would've left BB for this show, I think they may find themselves regretting it.
So I watched it and It was decent. But I think that this show could turn for the worst mainly because of America having the say so in who gets the boot. This country is very religious, safe, and like to bring morals into everything. so the entertaining people will probably be gone first and some boring safe person will win.
oh and Alex...that guy did a really PATHETIC job at trying to be the most "epic villan in all of reality tv" he was rather very tame and cookie cutter. He's not in the ranks of Russel(Survivor) Dick(Big Brother) or even people from The Real World/Road Rules challenge. He was just desperate and it showed.

People said the same thing about American Idol, and then along came "votefortheworst.com."
I'm intrigued by the idea...interesting they have some older people (in their 40s) on the show. That should make it interesting.
I've yet to watch it, I tried to vote but my internet sucks. :(

The funniest thing about him is that he's only a villain because he's obnoxious and a bully. At least **** and Russel had strategy to back it up.
"I'M JUST BEING REAL BABY! I'M TELLING IT LIKE IT IS!" How embarrassing.

If you really think about it this strategy is brilliant. I would even say better than ****. If he keeps acting like this America will eventually give him the $250,000 simple because he is the only one in the house with a personality.

If you think he has a personality, may I recommend therapy? :sofa:

He is the only one who has a personality on that show. He is the only one causing drama and making it somewhat exciting. It's a great strategy if you ask me.

He asked America if they want him to be a villain, they said yes, so he's doing what they wanted! I can remember Primetime Alex Stein Number 99, but I can't even remember anyone else's real name, so that tells you something.
All the really great reality villains, male or female, had a posse. Alex reacted without thinking and without ensuring he had cast support -- even in tacit. What he did is not a strategy, it is a blind rush in to game tactics without knowing the dynamics of the voting viewers or the opportunities to drive wedges between other cast members. That was the genius of Evil **** on BB. He had a posse first. Parvati had a posse first on Survivor, Johnny Fairplay, JEK on the Challenges, etc...
The rest of the cast will turn on each other soon enough in Alex' absence. In fact that already began happening on the feeds this week. Establishing a villain in episode #1 and allowing him to drive the season stovepipes the show into predictability and it will also drive many viewers away. The one thing Glass House producers cannot afford is lose a vocal part of its audience immediately. They barely have an audience to begin with. There will be no recovery and they will all be dusting off their resumes in very short order if Alex returns.
It's Big Brother light, with a cringe worthy cheese factor and insufferable cast.
I felt this way last week, but given that this is the 1st season (and maybe the last), I'm willing to give them some degree of leeway on certain things. But if Alex came back, I wouldn't be watching this anymore.
Just heard Alex went home, that's all I need to hear. No need to watch anymore, everyone else is extremely dull. Hope you all enjoy the show while it's still on.
I feel like I'm the only one who actually likes this show.
1. It's reality and I'm a sucker for reality tv
2. Eye candy
3. It held my attention longer than Big Brother.
4. It's like the challenges, but less drama between the same people EVERY SEASON.
