Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
Saw this on Friday night. It is the Swedish film based off the first book in the trilogy. It was certainly subtitled and definitely not for children. If you get the chance to see this, do so. It is an excellent film and the fact that I had read the book didn't matter. I knew what was going to happen but I was still very engrossed in the film. Hollywood wants to remake this but I doubt they will do it justice. Here's the International Trailer: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (Män som hatar kvinnor) International Trailer - Trailer Addict It is subtitled so watch closely.
I've read the trilogy and watched this film This film is really well made, it's a good story and they casted the right people for the right roles. I think a remake will take away the magic of the film, It's in sweden about swedish people, so speaking english in the film would look weird.
I agree ... while Daniel Craig would be a good fit for Mikel Blomqvist, the true issue will be casting someone who can handle the role of Lisbeth Salander so effectively as Noomi Rapace. There is only one I can think and that's Natalie Portman. Hollywood needs to leave this alone and let people marvel at a film that Hollywood would never make nowadays.
I'm currently reading the book...then I'll watch the movie, and get to the rest of the books. I'm about 275 pages in and i LOVE it so far. It's doing a nice "slow-build" sort of thing, and I have really good expectations about how the story will continue to unravel. So far, I don't even have any theories! No spoilers please ;)

I actually just watched the movie this week and I thought it was really good. It was definitely one of the better adaptations I've seen and even as a standalone movie for people who hadn't read the book it's very good and engaging trying to work everything out. Enjoy!

I'm hoping to read more on my lunch break! I can't wait to get deeper into it.
