But the one I like the most is the Duel 1. I love that you can pick who you want to go up against in the elimination. If you don't want to be picked then win the challenge. If that's too hard for you then you can play political and make some alliances to make sure you're picked in the draft. Also you can play a social game to minimize the chances of the last person picking you. This format also makes it easy for some rivals to go at it (Aneesa vs Robin, Paula vs Aneesa, etc).
I also liked The Ruins format. Some deliberations were pretty awesome.

Weak competitors should go home first. This is a competition.
This is a reality show first and foremost so that's not always good..especially if they're entertaining like Devyn or Katie.
You can be entertaining and not make it far, Katie went home early on the ruins and cutthroat yet did much more than on the guantlet 2 and 3 where she made it far.

True. But it's more beneficial to the show if those people make it far thought(mostly of the time).
Free Agents was a great concept in theory in that it broke up most alliances and when people did try to make deals they would more often than not just be made to look like a tit (Jessica). The flaw was how they split up who would be eligable for the vote and who would be eligable for the draw.IMO if you don't win you can be voted for, if you don't get voted in you go into the draw. Simples. If not that then everyone is eligable for the vote and then at most the worst 4 or 5 performing individuals who weren't voted in go into the draw. Imagine a Free Agents during the JEK era, so much more interesting than for example the Rivals voting.
I think a way to make free agents work better was that if it could have ended at any point with the possibility of a team final, same sex pair finals, opp sex pair finals or individual. It would have prevent people from getting a free pass

Katie didn't even go home THAT early on the Duel 2. She went home 4th but only a spot before Ruthie. Kimberly was a star of that show and lastest 6 episodes

That's actually a very intersting Idea. That alone could turn the game upside down and we could see gameplay from people whom aren't backpack or Wes.
Call me crazy but for me the best formats(besides Seasons) where during JEK Era even though no one besides them knew how to work in different themes. But like LHarkins said I would love to see a Free Agents during the JEK Era.
Also the 1st Rivals on paper seemed a really good theme but the cast was too unbalanced and again JEK made everything pretty predictable.

Thank you for saying this. Never understood why that season was so loved.

Idk man I think its because of the Rivals thing and the beginning of paired challenges( i guess at the time most didn´t knew that we would be stuck in paired hell challenges until now). I liked the season because it was one of my first seasons on TV that i saw ( started on Fresh Meat 2 and Cutthroat so yeah) and this was basically the end of JEK Era if you ask me but most of the time I was rooting for the underdogs because how high and mighty Johnny,Evan and Kenny(and Wes by pairing) were acting towards everyone else.
If only the female cast were more independent and solid we would have a different outcome I mean imagine some of JEK sheep female pairs being subbed by Coral,Katie,Beth,Ruthie,Tina,Susie(she would probably go along with them lol) and Rachel.
Cutthroat, easy. Shocked they haven't repeated this theme yet.
Also I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo over paired challenges, but I think I get why there have been so many. Assuming pair challenges are easiest to give a higher payout to contestants, where as team challenges leave the final pot split too many ways
Am I the only one that liked the island? lol The fact that everyone that was on it hated it makes me like it even more.
I hated the Island, but it was mostly because of the cast. The format wasn't that bad, though it could use some retooling.
Jenn looks tragic in that picture...
I wish they would bring Good Guys vs Bad *** back....at least they wouldn't have to limit their casting pool.
they could probably get enough guys but getting the girls would be hard.
Ruins format but with Old School v.s. New School or Heroes v.s. Villains (or just keep it as Bad ***** v.s. Good Guys)
Seasons 3....I love the 4-team format, but I feel like they could get so many different seasons on there with pairs
Free Agents 2 or a Duel 3 (with Duel 1 rules)
Most formats have some flaws.
