The Emmy Awards
Pretty good thus far. I love Jane Lynch. Modern Family is cleaning house so far - with Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell winning supporting acting in a comedy awards. MF also picked up a directing and writing award so far. Jim Parsons of Big Bang Theory is Lead Actor in Comedy (was hoping for Steve Carell, but it is well deserve on Parsons' end). With what may be the biggest upset I've seen - Melissa McCarthy wins Best Actress in Comedy series. Loved that all the nominees rushed the stage and made a mock pageant of the whole thing. Hilarious. What do you all think so far?
I think you named the thread wrong. Jane said it was The Modern Family awards. Best part so far was Melissa McCarthy winning and their whole pageant thing. That was amazing. Great show so far.
Being reminded of Secret Agent Phillip from Survivor. Of course they would find some way to fit him in there. Hehehehehehe (and his saggy underwear).
So glad Amazing Race won. Truly the best reality program, IMO.
You can tell this is the part of the show nobody in the audience cares about except for those nominated haha.
So glad Amazing Race won. Truly the best reality program, IMO.
It's a great show, but I was glad when Top Chef took it from them last year. I'm all for shocking wins, so when that happened I was happy. I guess they really wanted their win back this year haha.
You can tell this is the part of the show nobody in the audience cares about except for those nominated haha.
Definitely. However, I love everything about the Emmy's. Probably one of my all time favorite award shows, other than the Oscar's of course :D

That musical number was....random...hahaha
That musical number was....random...hahaha
But that was amazing! Any one who watches SNL has to appreciate it.
Oh it was hilarious - just random haha
And now on to the most predictable section of the night....drama.
Time to turn from The Modern Family awards to the Mad Men awards.
WOW --- foot in mouth! Friday Night Lights with a win. Writing in Drama Series.
Time to turn from The Modern Family awards to the Mad Men awards.
I was actually thinking this will turn into the Boardwalk Empire awards or possibly Mad Men. I guess we can start off with something different...
Yeah....I haven't predicted either of these. And I'm OK with it. I'm over the Mad Men bandwagon. And Margo Martindale (Justified) literally crawling up the steps was awesome...

And Margo Martindale (Justified) literally crawling up the steps was awesome...
She's such an incredible actress. Her small stint on Dexter was quite amazing. Her husband almost breaking down just now was so precious. I'm really loving the non-predictability of this part so far.
Me too, Fab! I feel the right people are winning though!
Me too, Fab! I feel the right people are winning though!
They really are, which is something that never usually happens. Although it was very Modern Family heavy at the beginning, but since Modern Family is quite hysterical, I completely understand. The only thing I'm kind of upset about is Amazing Race winning for the billionth time, even though they really do have a great show every season.
Yeah, Modern Family deserved all of those wins - especially Bowen and Burrell. (and I love how it's just me and you commenting back and forth haha I guess nobody else is watching! I'm OK with that haha)
Whoa - ER flashback.
Hahaha, I figured it was either watch this or football and I had my fair share of football this weekend (especially huge college football let down). With the new television season starting up (which actually looks like one of the best lineups in a while), I'm hoping it will bring Michael Emerson back into the loop with his show Persons of Interest.
Now that you say that - this is definitely the first year in a while where there are numerous new shows I'm interested in giving a shot.
Now that you say that - this is definitely the first year in a while where there are numerous new shows I'm interested in giving a shot.
I think so as well, which means the Emmy's next year should be quite great.

Louie should have won for best writing and I would have chosen Stonestreet over Burrell. So happy Margo won though! She was amazing and the Justified's crew reaction was the cutest. Amy Poehler really should have won instead of Melissa McCarthy and did Jim Parsons really beat out Steve Carell in his last chance for great work on The Office? Lamesauce.

Love Peter Dinklage!

I do love Jim though, Big Bang is one of my all time favorite shows.
Yeah Stonestreet beat Burrell last year.
I despise --- repeat, DESPISE --- that The Jersey Shore has been shown on The Emmys TWICE now.

I'm very surprised with how much I agree with the drama wins so far.
