Eleven Episodes Left: RW/RR Challenge 2008
So it said in the commercials that "only 11 episodes were left" So if they're all 2 hours...thats 22 right there...plus 4 that already aired....but putting it that way makes the season seem so short! I'd rather the 1 hr shows though

I'd rather the 1 hr shows though
They are all 1 hour shows instead of 1/2 hours shows and 2 have aired of 13 hours total. Where are you watching 2 hour shows, lol? Yes, it makes the season short, but I get burned out on a season way to fast. Last year by mid season they were piling up on my DVR. I'd rather they have shorter, more intense seasons and just amp up the production schedule to get the next one out as quick as possible.
Why are they doing this? Ratings? Fill in space?
Why are they doing this? Ratings? Fill in space?
I know with The Gauntlet 3 they originally planned on doing a few one hour shows and the rest half hour segments. Once the ratings came in they decided to go with all one hour shows as it was working so well. That caused MTV to move up The Real World from its once slated May launch (because they ran out of Gauntlet episodes) and I bet they decided that in that 10 PM Wednesday time slot the hour long format seemed to be paying dividends, so why mess with it. The only downside in the longterm is they didn't have the Challenge/Real World Production machine ramped up to fill the gap at the end of the season so I suspect we are going to have a major RW dead space unless they slam through post production on the next Challenge.

Meh, but that means when it comes, it will be that much better.
My bad...i meant 1 hour lol

Here are MTV's options... 1. Quickest to air. Given BMP's experience with near real time editing during Road Rules - Viewer's Revenge, MTV could ask for continuous tape shipment from the challenge location to BMP in Van Nuys where transcripts can be made and rough editing started. This would result in a "challenge-verite" feel in that the outcome would not be known before the editing began and thus not constructed to support the compelete challenge storyline. With around the clock post production, the challenge could be ready for late July/early August showing. 2. Normal process. Transcribe and log as tapes arrive in Van Nuys -- this takes forever and is labor intensive. Each episode is laid out in final after the challenge is done and edited to the storyline of the challenge (i.e., certain scenes are carfefully selected from the very beginning to support the logical conclusion of the challenge.) This is the way reality shows try hard to retain most of their audiences as certain fan favorites leave the show each week. The challenge could easily be ready for the fall sweeps. Given the normal downturn in 18-49 viewers over the summer, going with opition #1 would surprise me. It would satisfy a few die-hard Internet fans, but not do much for the network overall. (Disclaimer: the above options are only my outsider view. I've not talked to anyone inside BMP or MTV about this for other business reasons.)
I forgot about how they did RRVR! There is a great short article for the filming processes inclined here. It would be interesting to see that type of approach to the next challenge, although I do agree with your professional opinion in that MTV would be best served to populate the Real World vacated time slot late summer with alternative programming and save their higher production value series for fall sweeps.
W/ just eleven episodes how long will it be before we see Nick and Brittini? They're not going to get done like Charlie on the San Diego season are they?

Didn't they used to film two challenges a year rather than one?? Have they cut down to one to make us hungrier to watch them instead of the overkill of doing two?
Charlie! What ever happened to him?

Nope, I don't think so. Though it's the ONEEE Challenge I can't get seem to download. Really annoys me since it was my second favorite one, behind BOS1.

you can watch BOTSexes 1 at Veoh Video Network: BOTS1
I've stopped watching. I just don't care about this group of people. I don't relate to any of the chicks, and the guys are just blahh. It does amaze me how Will is from Detroit, but talks like one of those Laguna Beach *******. And, I lubbs me some Joey. But, not enough to keep tuning in for an hour.
