Looks way better than season 5 in my opinion.
I really loved Season 5, or at least thought it was better than 2 and 3. I'm kind of hoping they bring Lumen (Julia Stiles) back to guest star later down the line.

Yeah I liked Season 5 a lot too. Unlike most people, I was not crazy about Season 4. Season 3 will always be my favorite...
As for Lumen, I have this theory that no character leaves this show alive. I've always kind of thought this, but Lundy only confirmed it for me. That said, I foresee Lumen returning in S6 and either staying for good, or getting the axe by someone that isn't Dexter. Sorry Stiles.
I can't wait!! Love this show!!
I can't wait either. I'm very curious as to where they will be going with the story line this season, especially with Colin Hanks' character!!

Colin Hanks?! Loved him in 11:14! This is a good surprise!!
Between this, Breaking Bad, Entourage, True Blood, Big Brother, Rivals, and Rescue Me, I've got my hands full with TV haha
Why do they have to tease us so early? October 2nd is a million days away and I'm not the patient type. That trailer was quite good and the overall theme seems to be religion and Dexter struggling with what to believe maybe? I wonder if we'll get any quote from Deb like "Mother Mary of **** this is good." Hehe. Can't wait!
Did anyone catch tonight's premiere? I thought it was a great episode and a good start to the season. I'm already very intrigued by Colin Hanks' character and the other man that was with him. Feel like it's going to be a great overall good murder storyline.
Finally happy that Batista and LaGuerta are no longer together. That's what made the episode great for me. I never really could stand them together (at first I could, but it slowly went downhill). I do like the Quinn/Deb relationship, but I'm glad him asking her to marry him was interrupted and put off for the moment. I don't think Deb is meant for married life.

I did, it definitely looks different, like the killer does different stuff each time, and the snake thing is really creepy in a catch-my-interest sort of way. Can't wait for next Sunday.

The snake thing really did creep me out. I was worried at first about the entire religion concept because I have a feeling it's going to one of those love it or hate it deals. I'm hoping it just keeps getting better.
The first episode ran a little slow, but they always do with this series being it is all about the buildup (although there were three kills, so I guess not that slow!) The religion aspect of this season does throw me off a bit, but I'm hoping that it takes an unexpected direction as both Colin Hanks and Edward James Olmos are quality actors.
I'm also happy that Batista and LaGuerta are through. They weren't a good fit. Batista is much more compelling as a hard on his luck, heavy drinking tail chasing cop than LaGuerta's cupcake. The fact that he has moved in next door to Dexter is sure to be trouble (I'm guessing Batista's sister gets snuffed out sooner or later.)
I like Deb and Quinn as well, but was more interested to see the interactions between Deb and Dexter (clearly they are professionals!)
Dexter being popular at his high school reunion was hilarious. Twenty years later the science geek returns and he's a famous blood spatter analyst (good job) who works out (good body) and single (wife killed.) He's the perfect man! Well, besides that Dark Passenger...
I really liked the episode tonight. That kid that plays Harrison is one of the most adorable children I've seen on television. He's so precious. Wouldn't want him to be running around shouting things that he does hear/see Dexter say/do now would we?
I'm very interested in the Mos Def storyline and where that is going. I want to believe that he's not a bad guy, but if I had to put money on it, I'm calling him dead by the end of the season. By who? My guess is Dexter, but we'll see.
Deb as Lieutenant is brilliant! Mainly because I enjoyed having ex-Captain Matthews having to tell LaGuerta that she was the one to announce it to everyone else. Very interesting indeed. Although I still really dislike the entire blackmail story, I'm looking forward to seeing LaGuerta fired/caught or whatever happens to her character. I really think it's time for her to get the axe.
Quinn and Deb? The entire proposal was hysterical and it's definitely the way Deb acted that made it a great scene. Now that Deb is Quinn's boss, that should be interesting as well.
Masuka and blonde chick intern is another storyline that they are just throwing in there for filler it seems, but I hope she discovers some sort of lead in one of the cases and shows the men that women are obviously superior ;)
And why do I get this feeling that Colin Hanks' sister in this will probably be dead soon? Hmmm, very mysterious storyline and I'm really loving it.
Great season, so far. Does anybody else think Travis is going to turn on Professor Gellar? I believe Dexter is going to be the one who makes Travis realize he's being manipulated. Bach or Fab, I'm talking to one of you, lol.

I was getting that feeling last night when watching the episode as well. I think that would be a great arc to the ever changing storyline and makes the most sense in my mind. I was shocked with the ending of the episode and the entire thing with Brother Sam. Can't wait to see what happens.

Me too. I'm still confused on whether to believe Brother Sam is good character, or a bad one. Something just seems off.
This season is very interesting. It's great, and there is soo much going on with this, and then they bring Trinity in from no where. Can't wait for next week.

I thought tonight's episode was fantastic. I loved how they brought Brian back into the picture. His character was always very interesting, since he was the first season focus. Trinity did come out of nowhere, but I enjoyed the storyline. Definitely still want them to somehow kill of LaGuerta, but I doubt that will still never happen.
I feel as if I'm the only one still watching, but anyway I was super shocked about the ending of the most recent episode. I definitely didn't see that one coming. Dexter knows when to raise the shock factor for sure.

Really? I saw that coming the whole season. I feel like the only thing that has been shocking this season was the return of Brian for an episode. I do have this crazy feeling LaGuerta is going to be killed off in the finale for some reason. We will see where the rest of the season goes...

I wonder if we are talking about the same thing? I'm talking about Geller being dead all along and how he's just a ghost. I wasn't shocked at all about Travis turning back to his original ways or that he would actually be the one to kill all the people, including his sister. I just don't see how anyone would have been able to see that Geller was dead already.
And I would love nothing more than for LaGuerta to die at the end of this season.

Yeah I was referring to Gellar being dead all along. Nobody had seen him in quite awhile and he would randomly show up out of nowhere outside of the church so it was weird.

I just find it hard to believe, that's all. It makes sense now with him only being certain places, but that's such a random storyline, I don't see how any one would pick up on it.

You're not alone Fab, I love Dex!!
I also didn't see that coming, but I thought it was an excellent twist!! I kind of thought that might be the case for a split second earlier in the season, but then I dismissed it immediately. For some reason I was convinced that Dex saw Gellar in the church. Anyway, I'm surprisingly impressed with this season. And after last night's twist I think it has the potential to trump Season 3 as my favorite Dexter season...
As for Laguerta... All this hate is shocking to me! I mean, I hated her S1, but since then I fall more and more in love with her everytime I see. I wish her and Deb's relationship was better though. Also, the dynamic between her and Matthews is really entertaining, they hate each other, but I'd love it if they were secretly hooking up.
Dexter is one of the best shows around. I also love Homeland that comes on right after. But I didn't love Dexter's ending on the last episode because I don't see how he could have killed the atheist if he was with Dexter the whole time. And he must really be crazy if he burned himself for talking to his sister. I think having Gellar as a real person would have been more interesting. The accomplice doesn't seem as scary to me. But I wonder if this storyline is going to be summed up the next episode or is it going to linger on until the season finale. I love Dexter though I'm glad it was renewed for 2 more seasons.
I enjoyed the M. Night Shyamalan twist and didn't see it coming (although in retrospect, it was strange how Geller seemed to be able to pop up anywhere and everywhere without warning or in many cases without even being seen.)

I've always tolerated LaGuerta and she had grown on me over the years, but this season knocked her right back to square one in my eyes. I'd have no issues with her death being used as a plot device.
On the other side of the coin, I considered Quinn annoying when he was first introduced and now I think he provides some of the most entertaining moments (outside of Dexter, of course.) Last night's scene were he was searching for his gun had me in stitches (beer googles!) The Quinn, Batista chemistry has been great this year.

I think Dexter will finish off Travis first and then the finale will delve into the other threads that have not yet been summed up.
The fact that the parting shot in Louis' apartment showed the prosthetic ice track killer hand, has to be leading to something (e.g. I think Jaime is in trouble.)
Also, we have the unfinished business between Dexter and Debra (maybe she figures out the secret of his dark passenger?)
Finally, there is the call girl incident with Mathews, which was touched on again this episode.
There is all sorts of crazy things that could happen!

Solid post... I was the same way with Quinn at first too! Stealing that money, and trying to catch Dex pissed me off so much about him. But this season he gets shot down by Deb of all people... And like you said, the Quinn/Batista pair (Quangel as my friends and I call them) is really entertaining, and what I 've come to look forward to this season...
Also, I forgot about all those subplots. Louis is so cool, it sucks that he is possibly evil or somethin.
I used to want Deb to know Dex's secret, but this season has changed my mind, and reminded me how unnecessarily emotionally unstable she is.
Last, the Call girl/Matthews plots has me really intrigued, can't wait to see where that's going
Oh and there has been too much Vince Masuka this season for me.
