Dexter: Ep. 203 - An Inconvenient Lie
I'm so glad that Doakes is going to leave Dex alone now! If we knew that was what it would take, I say why didn't we send him there five episodes ago??? Rita is an idiot. She is going to now think that Dexter is only staying in the program because of the sponsor. Well, maybe she's part of the reason.... Morgan needs to get some serious help. But, it does make for an interesting storyline with her investigating him. Man, I wish it was next Sunday already.

If we knew that was what it would take, I say why didn't we send him there five episodes ago???
I was hoping that was going to work itself out. I did not expect it to be that easy either! Dex has enough on his plate being hunted by the FBI and doesn't need Doakes snooping around!
Rita is an idiot. She is going to now think that Dexter is only staying in the program because of the sponsor.
I hope Rita snaps and is secretly a female serial killer :)
Morgan needs to get some serious help. But, it does make for an interesting storyline with her investigating him.
Jennifer Carpenter does an awesome job playing Debra and you can really feel how torn she is trying to investigate this serial killer with the trauma that she has recently been through. She reminds me a little of the character Holly Hunter played in the movie Copycat - her mannerisms more then the actual person.
Doakes was seriously getting on my nerves this season, so I'm glad he's finally backing off. I find it bizarre that he's developing human type feelings of affection and protectiveness of Rita. I mean, if he's supposed to be a true sociopath with none of the human attachments the rest of us have, where is this coming from?? Did fully recovering the memories from his childhood cause some sort of psychological breakthrough and is he beginning to feel the same emotions that the rest of us feel?
I mean, if he's supposed to be a true sociopath with none of the human attachments the rest of us have, where is this coming from??
Maybe he likes the status quo, which happens to be his cover of a "normal guy" and really doesn't have any feelings toward Rita and the kids. I know that it seems from his actions of late that he is showing some sort of affection toward them, but maybe it is just to keep his life in order - which is what a control freak killer needs - rather then from some form of deep emotion feelings.
I see what you're saying, and that could be possible. However, wouldn't a control freak killer go with his usual neat method of killing someone rather than impulsively stab the victim because he called his girlfriend a dirty name?

I want Dexter to have emotions! Maybe he will grow to learn that he is misguided in his ways and is really not a sociopath.... ....just in time to find out that Rita is actually a black widow......and she feeds him rat poison to end the series...
I don't really mind if he has emotions, I'm just trying to figure out where the writers are leading us with these new character developments.
