He kinda did on Who's Smarter than a 5th Grader?, but I know Vince Mcmahon (owner of WWE) has been cracking down on a lot of wrestlers the past few years for not being in character all the time. If you check out his own videos from an iraqui trip on his myspace or youtube, he's actually the Miz of old. But wrestlers who are bad guys wont even sign autographs just to keep that illusion.
Woah o.o Didn't know wrestling was serious business like that. I don't even watch it. So, Miz is a bad guy on these things?
Yeah he is, **** he finishes every speech with "Im the Miz and Im awesome". He got so many boos in NYC the other day, its kinda cool to see him especially being someone who saw him on Back to New York all his challenges and now.
^It is cool to see how far The Miz has come since his Real World days. I still think it is cool to see him on Monday Night Raw.
I think he is the most succesful entertainment wise out of all the RW alumni.
I don't know I think Kevin Powell is a pretty prominent politician and Trishelle has experienced pretty good success but agian he has achieved his goals.
I think he is the most succesful entertainment wise out of all the RW alumni.
I don't know about that. Rachel (San Francisco) appears on TV every once in a while, Jamie (San Diego) has been in a few movies and starred in her own TV show, Teck (Hawaii) has been in a few movies, Kyle (Chicago) was on TV for a while, Trishelle (Las Vegas) was on quite a few reality shows, Mallory (Paris) has been a successful model, Brianna (Hollywood) has an album coming out.
Not to mention Jacinda Barrett who has starred in some pretty high profile film roles like Posiedon, Ladder 49, The Last Kiss, and some others.
I think Miz, Rachel(San Fransisco), and Jamie are the most known of the RW alumni. Trishelle has also had success with reality tv.
The Miz is actually the reason I started watching Real World. I was a WWE fan when they had this "Tough Enough" Competition where they have inspiring wrestlers compete for a WWE Contract. The Miz was a participant in the competition. I heard the guy was a MTV Reality Star. So I started watching "Inferno 2" to see what he was all about. I liked the show. After that I went on to see Real World Austin and other shows. As far as Miz wrestling career. He finished 2nd in Tough Enough. But it helped him because he went on to the Independent Circuit which helped develop and grow. After his stint in the minor leagues, he went back to the WWE. Hes always been bad guy and is rising through the ranks at the moment. Hes currently the US Champ on Raw (WWE Top Show) and had a fued with the most popular wrestler John Cena. The future looks bright for The Miz. EDIT - I would say the Miz is the most successful entertainer of all RW Alumni because the WWE is huge all over the World and "RAW" draws huge ratings, always a top the charts.
I know what you mean molds, but say Jaime, **** people here didnt even know she was in Dragonball Z (which tanked at the box office) or the rianna video, Teck was in Van Wilder over 9 years ago, Rachel unless u watch the View she isnt nationally known, Tris****e was last seen on Dr. Steve-o which also tanked, Miz on the other hand is now someone who's known world wide, on tv every week, succesfull at his chosen field, and pretty much secured for his entire professional life if he continues how he is going. The only other RW who is as well known in his professional career is Judd with his Green Lantern work where he made his name known, but the others apart from bit parts or starring roles in mediocre movies they haven't been as succesful.
A LOT of people watch The View, so Rachel is pretty well known

Yeah, I was just gonna say..lol. I'd think she's more known as being on the view than on The Real World.
lol guess as guy I dont really rate the view, my apologies.
How long ago was she on the view and for how long? The Miz has been in the wwe for the last 3 years. Also isn't daytimme t.v. slowly dying as ratings, have indicated even with Oprah's show dropping a little.

She lost out to Lisa Ling and then Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Either way, she still regularly appears as an expert on NBC. I saw her as recently as a couple of months ago on the Today Show. As someone who admittedly does not watch wrestling, I would not consider the Miz as the most successful RW alumni of all time in terms of entertainment. I wouldn't consider Rachel to be the most successful either, but that's just my opinion.
Let me reiterate though, that the Miz is not a wrestler. He is an actor that gets paid to do prearranged fights and act like a moron. The goal of professional wrestling is to excite the crowd, not to win matches for your personal well-being. The "good" wrestlers are not necessarily "good"...they have some marketable skill that makes them attractive in the eyes of bookies, therefore garnering their business more money. "Professional" wrestling has nothing to do with skill. It is, like anything else, a business.
So if you don't want to define it as wrestling and instead entertainment. Then you can define him as an actor who does his own stunts. This would then make him the most successful actor currently who has been on the real World because he has people watching his shows that he is on in the millions weekly.

Ill give you the prearranged fights aspect, but being a "pro wrestler" does take a lot of skill. Not any wrestler can go into an arena and have the crowd react to what they do. And while the finishes may be pre determined, it still takes a lot of athletecism to do what they do in the ring. Ask Lawrence Taylor, big time football guy who was in a wrestling match years ago, and he still says it was one of the most intense things he has done. To say they aren't athletes cause they know how the match ends, is and im sorry if im offensive ignorant, they work their body, they live in pain (thus why many die of pain killer overdose), they take falls, and they do need have some skill to entertain that crowd, or get them to react. There is a big difference between a match (these names will probably sound foreign to you) Hornswoggle vs Chavo, and a match between the Miz and Morrisson. I am one that thought that Miz would last till his reality star shtick would wear off, but he has had the skill to overcome that and become one of the most improved and better "entertainers" in the wrestling world today. As I've said there is a difference when a bad wrestler comes out from the back and gets a few boos, because he has too, or what Mike does where he comes out and he has crowds booing him, and in some few recent shows caused the crowd to go against what WWE wants and actually have them chanting his name, finishing his phrase, or even getting some cheers. There are actually few wrestlers who have been able to get the crowd to cheer them when they are supposed to be hated.. The Rock, Hulk Hogan, and Steve Austin to name a few, all are house hold global stars. I am not saying he is at their level, but he is doing something those few have done.
Yes, this is the case. I'm surpirsed personally that John Morrison and the Miz seperating actually created more success for both of them. As I watched wwe for the first time in along time and notcied they both have championship belts.

I said he wasn't a wrestler. He was not a high school wrestler, nor does he have any background in wrestling. When I think of wrestling, I think of the normal, old-school, Greco-Roman wrestling. I think of Kurt Angle (and yes I know he was a professional wrestler) who won gold medals in the Olympics. I don't think of guys who act ridiculous and cater to audiences. For me, it completely takes the competition aspect away. And when the competition aspect is gone, what makes it a sport? The definition for sport is "an active diversion requiring physical exertion and competition". Does professional wrestling require physical exertion? Absolutely. Is it entertaining? Sure. But is it competitive? No, not once the fights are pre-arranged.
So by that basis MMA sport. WWE non sport.
So by that basis MMA sport. WWE non sport.
Yeah, pretty much. That's the way I look at it.
Rachel was on The View on October 12 of this year.

As for the bolded part..some would say that about reality stars.

The Miz is known worldwide. WWE is global. People from different cultures, genders, races watch it. The View is some old people show. Popular in the USA, I guess but who the **** is Rachel? The Military Fat Girl from Austin or the Lesbian who just won Duel II?

Rachel was on the Real World, San Francisco. Season 3. And you could have chosen better words for your description, by the way. EDIT: She's also married to Sean from the RW: Boston, but you're probably not familiar with that either...
The first Rachael is from RW San Francisco and RR All Stars. She is also married to Sean from RW Boston. Edit: OPD beat me to the punch.

From "Inferno 2" onward. Not sure when this San Francisco season happened but I was probably in elementary school during that time. My TV watching back then was Power Rangers and Dragon Ball Z. And I chose the best words that describe them. You figured out quickly who I was talking about and so did the poster below you.
Still you could phrase things in a way that aren't entirely offensive/stereotyping. Just because someone understood something doesn't make it okay to say. I think we should all play nice :)
