Was there any specific reason why Kenny wasn't invited to do The Duel 2? That's weird how he had done every single challenge since Fresh Meat, but wouldn't invite him to do that one.
I don't think any of the winners from the Island were invited to do the Duel 2. The producers probably already had the champions vs challengers theme in mind and wanted new winners for that.
I think there should be a rule where if you win a challenge, you should have to take at least one challenge off if not two. I know back in the day, if you won a challenge, you wouldn't be asked for the next one. That was when they only did a challenge a year though so finding people to cast was easier.
Why weren't there any alternates on The Ruins? I know when Puck left BOTS1, Dan came back. There was an alternate on the Inferno 3 when CT left for violence and in the Duel 2.
Im guessing with Dan..he still hadn't officially left. With CT on both ocassion the challenge hadn't officially started, so it wouldnt have been fair to bring in someone halfaway into the challenges.
Has anyone noticed that lately the rookies haven't been singled out as much anymore I think it's because of a lot of people meeting prior to the shows due to appearances.
Yea I know. Katie seems to already hang out with Derek (RW Cancun) and Emilee. I know Ayiiia and Shauvon are friends too. Derek is also friends with Evan. I'm sure a lot of the Real World people also met when they had the awards bash.
The old school had sort of established the bit about rookies going in first but with so many new people from FM this has been set aside it seems.
As Kenny, my opinions on coattail riding have been mentioned before.
I think sometimes the whole "rookies going in first" thing has to do with the format of the game (voting off rules, competing rules, etc).
Yeah exactly. Also another thing on older challenges they seemed to cast more rookies each season and less veterans. Around Gauntlet 1 and Inferno 1 we started seeing more veterans appear in every challenge dominating the game and voting off the rookies first.
The "rookies", or those who have appeared on 2 or less challenges, receive a weekly amount.
The "veterans", or those who have appeared on 3 or more challenges, are given a flat amount no matter how long they are there for.
So CT gets his money regardless if he last the whole season or a day.
That brings up a tough thing for a rookie then. Take on a weeker competitor and get a chance to make next weeks pay or take on someone skilled and risk going home in hopes of eliminating them and weakening the field for the final misson.

Well, there may be a clause in there that you get nothing if you get into physical confrontations.
I would hope that clause would happen as if it weren't he could get paid the same as someone who was a vetran who got voted/ lost a faceoff before the finale. Such as Landon. That would also be allot of money for one days of work. How do substitutes get paid?

I would assume the same way anyone else does...depends on their status.
You know..to defend Kenny (I hope I never type or say that ever again), we may rip on him for losing to Nehemiah..but he can claim to be the only person to ever eliminate Theo from a game, I mean he did solve that puzzle in the exile.
I think at some point in history the casting of "Fresh meat" is going to go down as a huge mistake and a very nasty stain on the legacy of the "Real World" and Road Rules franchises. Having said that Aviv did shine like a star, even if they refuse to allow her to return. "One hit wonder status at $125,000 is not too shabby.
Also I notice certain questions are glossed over and sort of left with ambiguous answers. What is the franchise now? is it a reality show? A game show? A serial soap opera with prizes and incentives? There is something very,VERY off with every challenge after Fresh Meat and there were rumblings of inconsistencies and "creative editing" before that. For those who try to use the defense no one has ever come forward with a definitive claim, well a good non-disclosure clause in a contract can take care of that. Knowing a production company with ties to a multi-billion dollar media empire can sue you from right under your suburban home will keep most quiet. Also most production companies, with an army of lawyers construct very well worded and fine printed text that a company can
change or alter the show to give them the outcomes they deem best for the continuity and survival of the show. That's legal jargon for it's perfectly within their rights to "fix" the show and even determine winners. I think some combination of these things have been taking place on these shows for quite a while.
It's just a shame that what was once a humourous and exciting way to reconnect with past RR/RR cast members has degenerated into lowest common denominator misogny and violence baiting perversities. Everything on the challenges that used to occur as part of the human experience is now hyper-amplified encouraged and packaged as the main event. It's a freak show usually taken outside of the United States to skirt American laws governing the nonsense they get away with before, during, and after the cameras roll. Combine that with the fact that much of it is obviously cut and pasted along a heroes and villains storyline with ambiguous truth and what you have is a season long cess pool of falsehoods and lies. it's no coincidence all the challenges lately seem to resemble some sort of hell on Earth. That's where MTV wants to lead most of their followers anyway.
Also if BM and MTV abhor violence so much shouldn't they strike the footage from the reel and destroy it? That might be a tad more convincing than letting a group of production assistants sit idly by while watching a confrontation go from heated to potentially murderous, recording it and blasting it all over the airwaves, and websites. It just smacks of hipocrisy. I'm hoping someone can explain to me why after the horrible CT episode these people have not taken greater steps to defuse violence and ensure the safety of all involved. Does someone actually have to die before they take control of their circus?
Another thing Deals of all sorts have been cut between castmembers for a while on these challenges concerning money. Darrell went into two ruins eliminating two potentially major threats. He was integral to his team's success. They did not get there by themselves. Regardless of what BM or MTV pays him doesn't he deserve to get a "little check in the mail" from his winning team? Surely from HIS TEAM he deserves SOMETHING? Right? perhaps my belief in this code is a little to stand-up for many to relate to.
Also to put it bluntly I firmly believe that what started out as an experiment turned into a savage beast for BM and MTV. I'm speaking of Fresh Meat and certain cast members.
I think their rise was no accident and it's more akin to WWE wrestling than any real,or percieved dynasty. of course they're going to win. it's in the invisible script.
No, pretty sure it was Kenny that solved the puzzle, because TJ was like "You solved the puzzle?!?!" to him. He was rushing Tina, but in the end I'm pretty sure he solved it.
hmmm yes u are right. He did, but Tina helped him, perhaps the puzzle was almost completed before Kenny put the last stone onto this deck))) I dunno. whatever, we'll never figure it out exactly
anyway it was about defeating Theo, so yes, he did it (somehow) and i don't really think they had to solve that puzzle, Theo and Chanda were not so close. Tina and Kenny could just walk to the finish line
I saw the ep last night (thus what triggered my comment) and it was Tina saying "forget the puzzle lets go" and it was Kenny who solved it, Tina herself said it was Kenny. Theo and CHonda could've been close or far, but they did solve the puzzle also and I wouldnt have been surprised that if Kenny hadn't gotten the car, that Theo and Chonda would've driven past them to the finish line.
