If the rules were known ahead of time about it only being a one minute head start Johnny and Tyler may just have not overexerted themselves on day one realizing they would be beaten to the camp site regardless.
So the whole point of the 12 hour part, was just to avoid dq'ing? Doesn't matter how good/bad you do as long as you complete it if that was the case with the no head start.
Meelz, did either Wes or Kenny see the 45 minute lead being decreased to 1 minute as unfair?
Hell yeah. Kenny did. It was like restarting the whole thing.
Meelz,
DId they talk about CT a lot in general or the Laurel CT whether it was him playing her or he really liked her? I know Adam gassed out, where they saying he did awesome in the jungle? Tyler got laid out 3 times I think you said.
I don't think anyone in their right mind would put a dehydrated person with food poisoning to stand up whole night, even if sleep makes them more dehydrated as the other poster said. I doubt the dehydrated person would be able to stand up on a rock for approx. 8 hrs. I think they did the best with what they had, but I agree that 1 min head start is crap. Would have been better for them if they didn't have an overnight.
Well, I'm under the impression that they got food poisoning at least a day before the final, because that would be one serious case of food poisoning if they didn't sleep it off over the course of one day. If Wes was still suffering from it during the final, then of course I would let him sleep. But if it was strictly dehydration that put Wes down, then it would be more intelligent to just let Wes get any of the water they had before they reached the first checkpoint or whatever, and made him stand, it's the least he could do.
12 hours sounds ridiculous to me. And it doesn't make the tv show more exciting. I would like if the final was mixed with equal time of swimming, climbing, puzzles, endurance and running, but not to that extreme or that long.
Although if the final had a lot of swimming, Wes would have been the champ there. Wes can swim his butt off, but he doesn't seem to have a lot of endurance when it comes to finals and long distance running (he cramped up pretty bad on Fresh Meat 2).
On the Duel didn't he have the luck of getting a good head start ahead of Brad? And he manipulated Evan-who got taken out, and then CT DQ'ed in an elimation with Brad. Wes constantly rides the coattail of winning the first Duel challenge, but it came from mostly good luck.
It was; the first day was a full 12 hours and included canoeing, eating, using wheelbarrows, doing puzzles, and climbing up a mountain. Then there was the rock part, and then the last part took about an hour.
I hope that for next season (if there is a next season) they tone down the final too. I realize it needs to be tough, but they don't have to constantly one up themselves because at the end of the day these people aren't triathletes or whatever. I feel like it makes it less interesting when half the teams gas out or quit. I thought Cutthroat was one of the most boring finals we've seen in a while because once Abram went down, I think everyone knew Red had it.

With a new producer, that may be possible.

This lead to Jenn vs. Laurel, in which Jenn said that Laurel was trying to save face by ****ting on Cara Maria to her - but Laurel denied that completely. Jenn cited that Laurel said that Cara Maria hates Jenn as much as she hates Derrick's Wife.
Why was Derrick's wife brought up and who hates her?
Thanks Meelz and molds(and your source) for your summaries and answers!!

Derrick's wife has a vendetta against Cara Maria, that is known amongst the cast. CM made a comment on twitter once about Derrick being a spartan or something after viewing an episode of Cutthroat, I think, and his wife took it the wrong way and created a fake Facebook and started to message Cara Maria asking why she is going after someone else's husband and a father and such. CM had no idea who this person was talking about but later found out it was Amy, Derrick's wife. At the Cutthroat wrap party, Amy confronted CM and kicked a barstool or something at her and Jenn backed up and supported Amy. Up until recently, Derrick wouldn't even mention CM on his podcast or would change the subject when she was mentioned. It was very surprising to CM herself to have been invited to do it with Laurel.

Wasn't known to me :laugh2: Thank you!
I don't know Derrick's wife, obviously, but she definitely sounds a bit nuts. "You are a spartan" is in no way, shape, or form anything different from what any other girl on the show tells Derrick - unless I'm missing something.
Sounds like Amy took this a little too far and was being overly dramatic...so I'm not surprised Jenn was quick to side with her.
Thanks Meelz and molds for all this great info!!!! I can't wait to see it all, personally I like that the finals are pretty challenging for the competitors.
I also think it sucks about the lack of a head start for Kenny/Wes on Day 2. It's like you could have not pushed yourself to the max on Day 1, and still be able to win even if you were far behind. At least give them 10 minutes for working hard on Day 1 to be in the lead, but what is the point to give them one minute?
Also props to Ev for being a beast!!! (I mean that as a competitor...she is very pretty too!)

I suppose it's possible to be historically "under-informed" thanks to our educational system, or not well versed in popular culture for a variety of reasons, but to know nothing of Sparta and their soldiers being the ultimate warriors of antiquity? To be firmly ignorant of both boggles my mind. Even a rudimentary grasp of the historical record should clue anyone in on the clear meaning of Cara Maria's comment.
Post-Reunion show party pics on Davis' facebook...

Some I'm at a loss to explain. Others are interesting and informative. There were a bunch of past cast members in NYC unrelated to the Reunion show to tape "The **** they blah, blah, blah.."
For those who are facebook friends with Davis Mallory, the link to all the pics is Facebook
BTW, the bar they always use is Dublin House on the upper west side. Remember it if you want to crash a future reunion party. I'll never post it in advance.
I'm surprised to see CaraMaria and Jenn looking so friendly in that picture from Post #320. I know the show finished taping months ago but based on previous posts on Vevmo, I was under the impression that there was bad blood between them off the challenges as well. I guess anyone can put aside their past differences for a photo op though, right?!

Jenn's smile in that picture as well as some of the other ones in the album look forced and not natural, but that's just my opinion.
I completely even forgot that Davis was on Rivals. When I first saw that he was at the meet up after, I automatically thought, "Oh that's nice, past alumni all coming together for things like this."
Jenn's pathetic. She would probably consider herself to be "too good" for Adam to get in real life and because she hooked up with him in a challenge environment, she doesn't want to own up to it because it'll make her look bad. She acts like she's some top sought after prize of a chick who would never stoop to the levels of hooking up with somebody on a reality TV show when her past clearly contradicts the opinion she apparently has about herself.
did they ever go into CT and Laurel, like his perspective on the whole thing? Did he genuinely like her or was he just playing her/trying to get a vote?
Someone who watches Cara Maria's ustreams or tweets her should ask her why was she smiling in that pic with Jenn? She's been acting like she still can't stand her since the show has ended.
On the Derrick podcast, Jenn seemed to hate Laurel more and said she didn't hate Cara Maria, and she thinks Cara Maria is a sweet girl, but she just thinks she should concentrate on her own game.
I only caught some of the CM/Laurel/Ev ustream earlier but one thing I did catch when a couple people asked them questions about the reunion was that Paula refused to accept Laurel's apology and Ev thinks that it's not fair that Paula won't own up to her own **** when Laurel was.
Does anyone know if Evan filmed for the S#!T They Should've Shown? He usually has hilarious commentary and I figured they'd be a lot of good stuff since there wasn't any dailies.

Words can't even express how much I enjoyed that Ustrem with Evelyn, Cara Maria, and Laurel. Those 3 are quickly becoming some of my favorites. I love the three of them together and can't wait for them to all be on another challenge together again.
Another highlight - Laurel and Cara Maria seemed to have convinced Evelyn to join the Twitter world - so look out for that!
