I am so glad to see that this was renewed.
This is great news. I would be surprised if it wasn't a Duel though...not that that's a bad thing.
I hope its a duel, because that will probe bring higher ratings and thus maybe another renewal.... fingers crossed!
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, great news! Hope the next one is a Duel 3, put in RWLV2 and RWNOLA2 faves since those seasons got good ratings, surely some of Real World's audience will move over to the challenges if that were to happen... but it looks like the challenges are slowly climbing back up on their own. Awesome!
I can not wipe the smile off my face. This makes me so incredibly happy! :D
Nice.
LOL even more work for Molds to do.
YEAH!!!! Should i be embarrassed to say that this show has been a nice little part of my life for the past 8-10 years? Damn, I love this series.
Awesome. Only wish is that they'd ditch these Fresh Meat people. Gimme RW/RR folks any day, though I realize at this point that's very unlikely. Also hope to see Mike and Leroy on a team again. I really enjoyed watching them on Rivals.
I'm making a promise to myself now not to look at any spoilers and really enjoy this one as though it is the very last.
im making a promise to myself now not to look at any spoilers and really enjoy this one as though it is the very last.
I'm 100% with you. I'm so heavily invested in these shows that I read Vevmo and other message boards in prep for Rivals. I accidentally got spoiled along the way for the female winner (while on another message board, I guess that's what I get) and it definitely influenced the way I view the show. As much as I love Vevmo, I will sadly have to give it up because the fans are incredibly lucky to get a 22nd season. I definitely want to cherish it.
Nice, now i really hope it's not a duel though. Because i know they're gonna try and get a bunch of people who are fan favorites and have done a ton of challenges before. I want them to do another big cast challenge so that they can get a bunch of new people on it as well as some oldies, just in case this is the last one. If they do a Duel, it'll be filled with "Kenny, Johnny, Evan, Paula, Jenn etc..." Don't want that, at least not right away. Great news though!
Shocker! It was just a matter of time, when MTV would announce that news. I like the challenges, I am sure they can go on for a few more seasons!
Rivals finale had almost 1 million more viewers than Cutthroat finale. Thank goodness, I'm pumped!
I wonder if Justin Booth will remain the producer. I know it says he is in the press release but there's been rumors he's on his way out.
Apparently Tyrie reads these boards haha. I follow him on Twitter and he posted a link here.
Yay!!!!! About time :)
I wonder if Justin Booth will remain the producer. I know it says he is in the press release but there's been rumors he's on his way out.
I came here to ask the same thing. I would like to see a challenge again without him as the EP. I know a lot of cast members don't like him and what he's done with The Challenges.
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but damn, they're going season to season now. BMP is really going to have to go all out every season for renewals, which at the very least will result in more seasons like Rivals which is a good thing I guess. I think the Duel 3 is the right way to go for ratings, although another team format challenge would be nice. Yay for at least one more challenge!
The challenge was going downhill for a minute there, as we all know, and I'm glad Rivals picked the series back up.
YIPPEE!!!! I was watching "Expedition Impossible" (great show) and took a break long enough to see if there was anything new on Vevmo. I guess you could say that!! I'd pretty much resigned myself to Rivals being the last challenge ever but my adrenalin is racing right now. I'm such a geek but I've loved these challenges since the very 1st one and have never missed one. Thank you, MTV, you've made our day!!!!
Thank God! So glad we get at least one more season. I'll take any format just as long as they get a fantastic cast assembled.

I hope they do something that gets RW vets who have never done a Challenge or new more interesting and less dramatic freshmeat. Otherwise, they are just delaying the inevitable in my opinion.
Two words in the one season renewal announcement from MTV make my skin crawl: Justin Booth
Well surely they are smart enough to see its either switch it up or die.
Two words in the one season renewal announcement from MTV make my skin crawl: Justin Booth
If you don't mind my asking, I was curious why you believe Justin Booth is a detriment to the series? I know that he is a producer, but when it comes to the insider stuff, I am quite clueless. While I am thrilled the Challenge got renewed for a season, it does concern me that the name Justin Booth is tied to words like 'incompetent'. Should I as a viewer be concerned that he remains the producer?
I hope the dailies are brought back as well. :D
I'm speculating that availability calls will be made soon. Nany is the only one whom i'd consider a lock at this point(very vocal about wanting to do a challenge and the main focus of her season aside from Dustin).
