The rules of the game from the very beginning were that ALL of the nominated 6 on the winning team got to vote on who to send into the Ruins. The producers definitely threw Susie a bone by letting her pick her opponent on the last mission. If they had stuck to the original rules of the game, it would have been 3 of the JEKD and Susie as the 4 voters for the Ruins. Just because there were no Challenger males left doesn't mean that all of the male Champion votes should be neutralized.
It wouldn't have mattered, Kenny and Evan would have given her what she wanted. Johnny was the only one to oppose her.
Who do you think would win in Hall Brawl based on most recent pics you've seen of them? (Just cast members who haven't been on challenges yet)
Scott vs Simon
Mike M. vs Eric(NOLA)
Jay vs Ryan L.
Andrew(Panda) vs Ryan C.
Jenny vs Avery
Baya vs Jamie
They sent Johnny in before Derrick...what do you think?
I found it strange that they would throw Johnny in before Derrick. It always seemed like JEK were close-knit and Derrick just tagged along and rode their coattails. So why not throw in Derrick first?
Cara was a whiny b***** the entire time and Abram went out of his way to protect Cara from deservingly going into elimination. Cara underperformed the entire show. Abe went as far as saying laurel was weaker than Cara which is ridiculous. It's easy to say now about Abe and Sarah not finishing the final but at the time of plotting they didn't know that. Ayiiia even outperformed Cara in missions.
Cara does well in eliminations, but just like Aneesa, I wouldn't want her on my team for missions.
Abram was pissed at Laurel because Laurel acted like she was god that season when she messed up a couple of things herself, including missing the bed in episode 3 and trying to take control of the puzzle in episode 1 (they ended up winning once Abram took control and told her to shut up). Dan said he voted for Laurel over Cara Maria as a way of telling Laurel "If you're supposed to be incredible, it means you haven't been performing up to your full potential. Go in and prove everything you're saying" to light a fire under her ***. They won the last 2 missions after this, one of which almost entirely because of Laurel so it seemed to work
Was Derrick in cahoots with JEK from the very beginning on The Ruins? Whenever they show Evan or Kenny discussing the alliance, they never mention Derrick. And Derrick's confessionals throughout the show make it seem like he's on his own and that he's just "going with the numbers".
They gave Derrick a good edit because prior to that season he was always the 'lone wolf' and the 'under dog.' So they couldn't have Derrick team up with big bad JEK
Honestly it was always JEKD if you think about it. Derrick was just nice to everyone and never wanted to admit he was apart of it because he didn't want a target on his back. JEK all respected Derrick too much to throw him in.
I found it strange that they would throw Johnny in before Derrick. It always seemed like JEK were close-knit and Derrick just tagged along and rode their coattails. So why not throw in Derrick first?
Derrick was always a central part of their alliance. It was never very clear on the show, but I think he fed them information from other cast members like Rachel, Robin and Syrus who did not realize that he was part of JEK during the Island and the Ruins.
Kenny explained (either on the Island reunion or in an interview somewhere) that the reason he "betrayed" Paula was to honor the deal he made with Evelyn on Johnny's behalf. He felt that he owed Johnny a win because Johnny was screwed over on the Gauntlet III. Then, on the Ruins, Johnny was put into the final male elimination because both Kenny and Derrick felt that they had stuck their necks out for Johnny on the Island and it was his turn to take the hit. On Fresh Meat II and Rivals I, in turn, Kenny felt that he owed Paula as much help as he could give her to make up for the Island. For such a jerk Kenny had an over-developed guilt complex.
To me it seemed that Johnny was lowest on the totem pole in JEKD up to rivals. He kinda got screwed over by Evan on the gauntlet 3 an was the only of the 4 to go to an elimination on the ruins. And that was againt dunbar who was bigger than him, so if they would be fair evan should have gone against him, that showed that the loyality in the group was not that strong. It is easy to say in hindsight that Johnny is better than Dunbar but when i watched that elimination i kind of thought that dunbar was going to win based on his size. And on rivals Evan appearntly did not want to be there that is probably the only reason he was not lowest on the totem pole. He seems to almost perform better when he is not relying on EKD.
Scott would crush him
I'm sure Scott's super strong and big (never watched Brooklyn so idk anything about him but apparently he owns a fitness company or something), but have you seen Simon? He's huge now. I don't think Scott vs. Simon would involve any crushing.
So production seriously thought that depriving the cast of all electronic devices would make the show more entertaining to watch? Why would they think that, considering the show had been doing so well even while the cast DID have amenities?
I'm curious to see how everybody ranks the Challenges from Fresh Meat II to now:
I'll do mine:
1. Free Agents
2. Rivals 2
3. Fresh Meat 2
4. Battle of the Seaons
5. Cut Throat
6. Battle of the Exes
7. Rivals
Honestly, only the first 4 of these were memorable. I hardly remember the last 3 challenges.
1. Battle of the Seasons
2. Rivals 2
3. Free Agents
4. Cut Throat
5. Rivals
6. Battle of the Exes
7. Fresh Meat 2

Scott is bigger, Simon is big but Scott is bigger and stronger.

I couldn't agree more. It just puts them all in a bad mood and not wanting to be there. A lot of people don't want to come back because of how strict it is. If it was less strict I gurantee the cast would be better.

People like Free Agents?
Rivals 2 & Battle of the Seasons were awful (6 & 7)
Free Agents at 5
Wow...none of these were really good
1. Cutthroat (even though I hate the winners)
2. Fresh Meat II (we actually had sides & Landon playing his own game when he had to)
3. Rivals
4. Exes

Yeah Free Agents is pretty awesome. The elimination rounds have had such great stories to them that weren't brought up.
Dustin vs Frank - One of the most heated rivalries in the past few seasons
Bananas vs Jordan
Theresa vs Camila - Former teammates going at it in a great elimination round
Emilee vs. Jonna - While they both suck, they were roommates on their season and are good friends.
Laurel vs. Cara Maria - Best friends turned enemies.
And then the eliminations were strong throughout:
Cara vs. Nia
Cara vs. Jessica
Bananas vs. Jordan
Aneesa vs. Laurel
Theresa vs. Camila
Laurel vs. Cara is sure to be good, as is CT vs. Leroy.
I know you read the spoilers which might have to do with how you view the season, but coming from somebody who's only had a couple eliminations spoiled - it's been a pretty damn entertaining season.

The idea of stripping them of electronic media, forcing them to stay indoors, and supplying lots of alcohol was to make them more frustrated and pissed off so they would do something stupid. I have a feeling we likely won't see as many amenities like a basketball court in the house in the future.

See, I don't think that's the best way to get drama. Back in the day what made the drama good is the personalities(or characters) of the people they cast. I just think they need to start casting better and the show will be better in turn.
