Camila watches a lot of movies. "I feel like Angelina Jolie doing this." "I just saw in movies that a lot of people die doing this."
So what happened to the preview where CT and Ty argue? Did I miss an episode?
I guess, I am one of the few but so far I am not liking this final at all. I am just happy that so far that Diem/CT are winning.
There is absolutely no way Mark let Johnny win after seeing their Dome...furthermore I wasn't that impressed with Mark to be honest. Johnny outmuscled him big time in 2 of the 3 rounds and only lost the round he did because he made the mistake of going on his back. Everything I predicted about it looked accurate, Johnny is so much stronger than people give him credit for & Mark doesn't have that "crazy switch" you need to flip on for eliminations like that.
Soooo glad to see Mark and Robin go; they were the most annoying couple. Mark is unbearably cocky and Robin just cries too damn much. After my 2 favorite teams left, the people left are the ones I wanted in the finals. They’re 3 solid teams. Wow, a final in Iceland? That’s awesome if you want to see the country, but it sucks for a final… I’d rather compete in hot than freezing weather. Diem and Camila looked cute with their hats. That river plunge looked so much worse at first. They made it seem like they had to submerge their entire bodies in the water. Oh God, that clip of CT eating an animal and having blood around his mouth was just disgusting. I wish Ty and Emily were doing better, but at least, Johnny and Camila aren’t winning,
And something makes me think that that isn't the first time CT ate something that was still bleeding.
"I will smash his head and eat it!" I just hope that CT and Diem can pull through.
Camilla. You are not Angelina Jolie.
I know. I made the joke that she should have been pushing the sled with the other dogs. Unfortunately, I was watching the show alone so no one got to hear my awesome joke.
I know. I made the joke that she should have been pushing the sled with the other dogs. Unfortunately, I was watching the show alone so no one got to hear my awesome joke.
I'm sure you must realize that such commentary invites us to ask that you post your pic that we might conclude if you could also put on a dog harness. One of my friends, however, just reminded me that the dogs are cute, so I'm not sure if you are actually complimenting Camilla.
Hahaha! I have waited for so long to see some Challengers in snow. Don't ask me why but I'm living this winter stuff! Whooooo!
I fell alseep right after they got to Iceland. Any repeats scheduled?
I fell alseep right after they got to Iceland. Any repeats scheduled?
I know they will air it again before the Finale.
Anyone else thinking about what a crapshoot it is to have a sled dog team determine your fate?
Anyone else thinking about what a crapshoot it is to have a sled dog team determine your fate?
No. The spread between first and third place was only 10 seconds. Sure, it may suck to sleep on a yoga mat for one night, but 10 seconds is easily made up in a marathon.
No. The spread between first and third place was only 10 seconds. That means that Johnny/Camila get to sleep with heat lamps and not as ****ty mats or mattresses or whatever like Ty/Emily do. That's a pretty big deal.

Ty and Emily are young and healthy. They can stand to sleep on the ground for one night.
I was referring to the race as a whole. Ty and Emily are young and healthy. They can stand to sleep on the ground for one night.
Yeah but who's going to feel better in the morning and probably be better rested and have more energy? Johnny & Camila or Ty & Emily?
I was referring to the race as a whole. Ty and Emily are young and healthy. They can stand to sleep on the ground for one night.
Of course that "ground" is only snow and ice. Absent a thermal barrier, they will likely not sleep, but I expect that is the intended disadvantage of being last.
I wonder if the teams will stay seconds apart throughout the whole final. I doubt it, but they look like they were neck and neck for the first two stations. Understandable since it was the beginning of the race. Anyway, I hope CT and Diem kill it and get their first challenge win. And I really, really hope JB and Camila lose. Like become unable to finish out the final and go home broke lose. That was harsh, wasn't it...
So far, im not liking this final, it looks like there is way too much interference from the crew, hopefully it turns around and become watchable.
I just hope they don't pull a rivals and keep taking away the lead from the the top teams. I think they are trying to prevent a blow out but it seems to take a lot away competitively.
I just re-watched this episode and noticed something.... Johnny and Emily were complaining about how their dogs were slow, didn't have enough to eat beforehand and all this other mess. NO! First of all, CT was running with his pack of dogs while Diem had one foot on the sled while she was pushing with the other. Great strategy. Then, I look over at JB and Camila's sled and I see Ms. Angelina Jolie standing on the damn thing, not helping, at all. While Bananas is putting in some work, but then I notice he decided to stop pushing and join Camila. Lastly, just a little behind you see Ty and Em. And I'm like, Ty, are you serious? For the most part he was just standing atop the sled while Emily was looking like superwoman. That part made me lol. I know this could easily be blamed on editing, but from what I [strike]seen[/strike] saw, them losing that race is their own damn fault and not the dogs.

Finishing a mile in under six minutes, in the snow with all that gear on, is near impossible unless you are a hardcore runner. They were practically being pulled by the sled anyways when they were running behind. In any case, I still think it's kind of ****** that they have that kind of unknown variable in the final. As far as Ty and Emily surviving, that's not the point. Of course they'll survive. It's a matter of how much sleep they'll be able to get with nothing between them and the glacier but a yoga mat. I hate that this is turning into another miserable final like Rivals. I miss the finals from back in the day, like The Inferno and BOTSeasons, where it was fast and you were constantly on the edge of your seat.

And the amount of commercials was insane. On the bright side of things I'm glad to see the show is getting it's share of sponsors.
Anyone else get annoyed with how every sentence that came out of Marks mouth had to do with him being old. Mark: I'm old Robyn: I'm a single mom. literally watch it again. Just about everything he said had to do with him being old. I was glad to see him go because I was so sick of it. My friend and I started shouting at the T.V "WE KNOW!"

They decide early on in taping what the character portrayal will be and pursue interviews and sound bites to buttress that direction.
I think the Mark being old thing is a huge portion of the narrative because at 40, he probably does not have the physical prowess he did at 30. Would Johnny Bananas have a chance at against a 30 year old Mark? I personally doubt it.
Yeah, it's important to know he's 40 but when it's the only thing he's talking about I'm kind of over it. Yes you're 40, move on. My dad is 50 and a power lifter, does he walk around bragging about being 50? No. And maybe I would blame the editing, but Mark constantly made those jokes on the after show. I'm 40 and also I'm 40. I'm an old guy. Isn't it impressive that I'm 40. Shut up. I liked Mark in Duel 2 and hey I liked Mark way back from the beginning but this season he's acted arrogant towards his partner and oh and did you know he's 40? Man must be hard being 40. He has a great body for his age yes (amazing body for any age actually), but you don't have to mention it every chance you get. I get it, you're 40. Its not as impressive as you think Mark. Johnny could have taken out 30 year old Mark. Not because Johnny is stronger, but although socially Johnny communicates very poorly, in these games he's very clever. He outsmarted Mark in this game, he didn't out muscle him. Mark was caught in a bad position and if he didn't let go his wrist would have been broken.

They stick firmly with the storyline. Nothing that Jacquelyn French produces is random. Mark is a script follower because that is what BMP is paying him his bonus to do. His age is what MTV wants him to talk about, and it's pretty difficult to avoid when production asks every other cast member to comment on his age, his ancient body, and his ability to still compete at a high level. He helps bring back the lost viewers in the 35-49 upper end of the demographic, one of the clear goals this season. Yes, to some it's annoying (I include myself in that group), but I know Mark well enough to know that is not the way he talks in his real life. He's not obsessed with his age. Overall, I seriously doubt he is please with his edit this season.
Well, fair enough then. I'll direct my displeasure to the people running this show. Bah. hahaha.
