CBS: Big Brother 10 - Ratings
It looks like the winter edition of Big Brother had a serious negative impact on the debut of the latest rendition of our favorite summer reality show. Although it was #1 in the time slot, it was the lowest rated Big Brother Premiere - ever. Is the clock ticking on Big Brother? Could this be the last season? The fact that BB10 lost viewers as the evening progressed does not bode well for this reality staple...
8:00 p.m. CBS – Big Brother 10 (season premiere) Viewers: 6.56 million (#1), A18-49: 2.2/ 7 (#1) ---------- 8:30 p.m. CBS – Big Brother 10 (season premiere) Viewers: 6.02 million (#1), A18-49: 2.1/ 6 (#1)
[ via mediaweek ]
Yikes that definitely is not a good sign but I hold hope that it will get better and that BB9 didn't scare away the viewers for good. Still I don't think this is the last season of BB I know it'll return and I feel the ratings will improve soon, besides 6 million isn't that bad.
NOOOOOOO! They can't get rid of Big Brother. Hopefully more people will start to watch!
NOOOOOOO! They can't get rid of Big Brother. Hopefully more people will start to watch!
Don't worry I don't think it's dipped low enough to get rid of and I'm sure it will pick up soon once BB9 has been purged from everyone's systems.
Is there a way to find out BBAD ratings...cause I have been watching that since it aired...
Is there a way to find out BBAD ratings...cause I have been watching that since it aired...
I don't think Showtime makes those readily available unless you are a media buyer. I am sure they are minuscule.
Yeah I don't think the ratings would be that huge for that especially on the east coast since it comes on so late. I did watch it when I was at a friend's house who has showtime and I did like being able to just watch some feeds on tv but there is often alot of boring parts you can't skip through.
Remember though - this is the first season to premiere on a Sunday night... historically, Big Brother has debuted on a weeknight. I know that me personally, I watched as much as I could, but was going out to dinner with family and had to leave halfway through the episode. In other news, did you guys see that Australia just canceled their version of 'Big Brother'? I hope that the US version doesn't follow suit :(
I think we should have a say in it! Lol. Hopefully we won't follow in their footsteps. Just tell everyone you know to watch Big Brother 10!
I think we should have a say in it! Lol. Hopefully we won't follow in their footsteps. Just tell everyone you know to watch Big Brother 10!
I tell everyone about BB all the time and tell them to catch it but I guess I'll have to step it up!
Here are the ratings for Tuesday night at 9 pm Fox was first again at 9 p.m. with a 4.7 for baseball, followed by NBC with a 3.1 for “Talent.” ABC was third with a 2.4 for “Survived how,” CBS fourth with a 2.2 for “Big Brother,” Univision fifth with a 1.8 for “Fuego en la Sangre” and CW sixth with a 0.6 for a repeat of “Reaper.” Beating Univision by a .4 is not a good sign.
...... Maybe after last nights episode, more people will watch. :) It was a good episode!
Beating Univision by a .4 is not a good sign.
Well, their share is growing daily. ;) The ratings for Big Brother will never (significantly) go up. It's just the nature of a show with a "Ten" in its name. The only hope is to retain its core viewers and slow the bleeding in order to stick around for as long as it can... Big Brother 10 - 6.13 Million Viewers (HH: 4.1/7) (18-49: 2.2)
I think it will stick around because I think CBS would want to keep it around to fill the summer season but who knows what the future holds. This season has alot of promise and I am liking what I'm seeing so far.
Yeah, I usually don't get roped into it until the 2nd or 3rd. Week. Usually the cast is so absurdly beautiful that I tell myself I'm not going to watch - but get sucked in eventually. This season I'm liking it from the begining. Hope it stays that way.
From Media Life, the ratings from Wed, Jul 16: CBS’s “Big Brother,” making its Wednesday debut, averaged a mere 1.8 rating in the 8 p.m. timeslot, tying the lowest outing in series history. I hope it is still around by the time they vote off Renny so I can watch at least some of the season.

Ya know Renny can be muted V1...
NOOOO! I have a bad feeling that our Big Brother series is slowly but surely coming to an end! :(
NOOOO! I have a bad feeling that our Big Brother series is slowly but surely coming to an end! :(
I am still keeping faith that it'll hit an upturn sooner or later, I just don't think this is the last one we'll see.
Obviously SYTYCD cut into the ratings as the elimination show is usually the highest rated of the week. I guess it didn't help that Brian's departure was a forgone conclusion... I tend to see numbers in the starkness of black and white. You raised my spirits again. A sacrifice to Mt Olympus will be offered later today. Goat, chicken, rare roast beef -- yet to be determined.

What's unfortunate about the low ratings so far (for the, you know, 3 episodes that have aired) is that the game play has been much better than last season... actually, so far Big Brother 10 is a big improvement upon the winter edition. I'm hoping word of mouth catches on for the show...

While more hardcore fans might not tune out so quickly. Still BB9 left a bitter taste in everyone's mouth and it's hard wash it away.

You had to watch it to know..... 1st of all, It was made up of all young people. To make it worse, they were in teams of 2. (their "soul mate") They would get nominated together, win HOH together, sleep together, even get evicted together..... But once they seperated it got alittle better. There was also some other things that happened. Like James going BACK into the Big Brother house instead of the audience choice! But you probably don't know who James is. Lol. :)

I have no idea who James is and I also don't understand what you mean by saying that he went back into the house instead of the audience choice...
Well they had a chance to bring back a houseguest that had been kicked out as a twist for the season and America got to choose or so we thought, and the majority voted for Alex. Well the HG's didn't know that and they threw in that they had to vote on who to bring back in. Whoever was in the mystery box or James the guy they just kicked out. They voted James back in completely canceling out out our vote.
Haha, well that blows!
Yes it did. It was like, Why did we even waste our time voting?
