Cast Members and Their Medications
Robin is obviously bigger than the other girls.. but as we learned from the KA face off.. that doesn't have to mean better.. Robin would have to beat both Paula and Johanna to ensure one of them be voted off. If it came down to Robin vs. Paula or Johanna, I don't know that Robin would survive the vote. It's a possibility... but unlikely in my mind.
Freeze frame almost any video image of Robin looking at the camera, and I'll bet you will say "she's stoned." (or something similar) More power to her, if she can physically compete that way. She looks like she has more drugs in her than a CVS Pharmacy.

How is it that Robin looks fried out of her mind and Tonya's Rx meds were kept from her? That doesn't seem fair at all.
One of them had legal meds left from her...
So, if your meds are illegal.. you get to keep them? Makes sense. Good job MTV.

Of course, I'm confident that BMP has since cleaned up their act...
Are the "rules" different for different settings/environments - like say a Real World house vs. Challenge house/environment?
The rules are the same but that doesn't mean they are ever followed or not easily circumvented.
Id like to know who's hopped up on what too. BPM never really addresses the issue (obviously) but its obvious that these partying kids are going to be doing more than drinking. The only times I can remember some apparent things would be obviously Joey admiting he used cocaine the night of his huge meltdown on RW Hollywood. Another time it seemed pretty apparent that tyrie and the former cheerleader (jenn?) from RW Denver were smoking a blunt during one episode. You could see it in their hands and I think the guts from the gar were on the table. Wasn't there something about Corel selling a cast members prescription meds in mexico on corals last challenge appearnace? Finally on one of the dalies when Robin and Kenny are discussing their hook she claimes "she has no memory of it due to all the pills she was on at the time." Any-one else have any dirt?
in mexico you can get controlled substances over the counter in any pharmacy. so technically it's not illegal.
And when someone is taking SSRIs or anti-anxiety meds like klonopin, ativan, xanax, etc, and drinking, they get more drunk more quickly and easily black out. The meds confiscated from Tonya was likely anti-anxiety since she was drinking. you shouldn't abruptly stop taking them, but if she's going to drink while on these meds, it's not unfair for BMP to worry about her ODing or blacking out and possibly drowning.
How much other type of medication made it to the island?:smoke: Ganja and the nose freshunupper...? Also would BPM ever step in if it was apparent they were using or on drugs at the time? Do they simply destroy the raw footage or step in? I know Id have to wear my :sun_bespectacled:
Also would BPM ever step in if it was apparent they were using or on drugs at the time? Do they simply destroy the raw footage or step in?
Hey buddy, FYI it is BMP.
Hey buddy, FYI it is BMP.
Oh thanks, my mistake.
I figure they'd only smuggle onto the set what they wouldn't be afraid to take on a plane. I wouldn't put pot in my bags, or blow. Who knows what those dogs can sniff out?? But meds are no problem, especially if they're prescribed. And just to clarify...the people taking the anti-anxiety meds probably had them rationed rather than confiscated since abruptly stopping can cause seizures. But if you're accustomed to popping a klonopin whenever your stress level inches in any direction, not having access to your meds can cause great distress--causing the person to medicate even more with booze. it would explain why some of them seem so wacked out. when you take 10 klonopin a day and suddenly are reduced to your prescribed amount (1 every 4 to 6 hours), your dopamine receptors start craving a fix.

Especially with all the filming gear they need to bring along. 10 a day? Wow would they even be coherent...LOL
Yeah, you build a resistance. 10 a day is probably conservative for someone who likes benzos. Did you watch Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew?

Vman would know if they fly commercial. If BMP is as cheap as he says, i'm sure it's commercial.

Did you watch Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew?
Panama, like most Latin American countries, offers easy access to prescription drugs. So, if they had any time from landing at the airport in Panama City to the flight to Isla Colón, they could have easily hit up a mom and pop pharmacy and walked away with a variety of "goodies" without a doctors note. You don't even need to say, "Ouchie my back is killing me!" They don't care... That being said, I'd probably stick with booze if I was spending any amount of time in Panama being the prison system there is a bit, um....harsh.
Panamanian human rights monitors and government officials agree on the essential figures. The prisons of Panama, built to accommodate a maximum of 1,600 prisoners, today hold approximately 3,700; over 1,000 of those are housed at the Modelo prison in Panama City, which was designed to hold no more than 250. To these numbers they add one even more shocking: over 90% of the prisoners in jail have not been tried on the charges brought against them. Of these pre-trial detainees, a substantial majority have been incarcerated over a year, and detention without trial for up to five years is not uncommon. In many cases, moreover, prisoners have been held for months, even years, before the investigation to determine whether there exists sufficient evidence for the charges against them to go to trial has been completed. In short, hundreds if not thousands of Panamanians who have not been tried, who may never be tried and who, if tried, may never be convicted are nevertheless incarcerated, usually well in excess of a year, in seriously overcrowded prisons. In many cases, the time they have spent in jail already exceeds the time they would have spent had they been tried and convicted.
and big airports have pharmacies. but there's not a huge variety of meds--mostly tylenol with codeine. Take 4 or 5 and you're golden. Anyone know how much it costs to fly from NYC to panama???

Or order them from an online pharmacy for the same price. (this is my favorite thread so far--much better than trash-talking skanky girls and ho-ish guys). I wonder why it's $15 less from Newark. $15 less gasoline?

Not long ago I did a little investigative reporting on this subject. (Just a clip of the hand written sign with all the popular items.)
Doesn't Polaski connect Brooklyn to Queens? (I guess I should know this). Anyway, it'll cost about $15 roundtrip from NY Penn Station to Newark via NJ Transit. Just in case anyone was interested.
Bacchus: Is something missing? Which part did you investigate?
Bacchus: Is something missing? Hey, it was legal! Edit: Looking back, I should have bought her a case of Paxil. ;)
Hydrocodone? Nice. Ultram sucks. Soma is a substitute. Hydrocodone is gold, tho. And this wasn't even behind the counter? (I'm thinking weekend getaway....)
