Big Brother Australia
Do we have any Aussies in the forums?? or crazy BB addicts like myself? haha If so, then the premiere of BBAUS begins tonight at 9 (AUS time)... so it'll be on youtube and up for streaming around 8am (EST) tomorrow morning.. and that same time everyday following. Last season was my first time watching the Australia version of BB and it was surprisingly the first season after a long hiatus. The house was probably the biggest and most beautiful bb house out of any version i've seen. The cast was very energetic, weird, funny, and entertaining to watch... the only thing that wasn't great about them was the lack of diversity and that they created no drama whatsoever. The tasks were great and their nomination system really works well... probably the most fair system I have seen in BB. This year they have reconstructed the whole house once again to comply with what they are calling is the "biggest twist ever!"... and from commercials they have already released... it will involve the house being "divided" in a way. Most have suspected that a clear glass wall will separate some housemates from the others and be split right down the centre of the house, with some living in luxury, and some not. From what has been released about the cast.. it's looking a little more diverse than last year, which makes me hopeful for this years version! Any fans of BBAUS, POST HERE!! :)
I'll give it a try! How does the format work, is it like the US or UK version?
it's like the UK where the public vote and they compete for food budgets... the only real big difference is their nomination system... each housemate has to nominate 2 people. Between their two choices, they have to divide 5 points (so 2/3 or 1/4) depending on who they dislike more or if its mutual... so say there is only one person I despise in the house.. I can give them 4 points while someone I don't talk to only gets 1... If there are two people I hate then I'd give the 2/3 split. The points are added up and the 3 with the highest amount of points goes on the chopping block. (if there are ties, then more than 3 can go up)... In addition, Big Brother added a nom twist each week, where the latest evictee could bestow an advantage to someone during the following weeks nominations (such as seeing the amount of points already given, have 10 points to distribute, saving a housemate, listening in on someone else's noms, etc) Aside from the nomination system which will stay the same I think, the format this year will be very different. This new "twist" will surely shake up the game, so I'm definitely intrigued! I'll be checking this one out tomorrow for sure!
Any show where the public determines who leaves sucks IMO so I have no interest in this. Completely ruins the game as the US version has done this year just by allowing "America" to dominate someone the past two weeks.
well thats because you grew up with BBUS, as did I... but BBUS has always been about the strategy.. and I enjoy that for sure! playing the game = backstabbing and drama, which is exactly what we look for when watching Big Brother. I also, however, can accept other versions of the show for what they are... not strategy games, but more like what the original concept has always been about.. a character study... seeing what the living situation does to housemates and how the drama doesn't rely on backstabbing and hoh's and pov's and whatnot. :P It may be a popularity contest, but i'd rather have people in the house that I like over people that I don't (i.e. RACHEL REILLY)... You don't have to put on an act. The public sees right through that. AUS and UK aren't about winning comps to win the game I dunno, I like US & CAN for what they are and I like UK & AUS for what they are... they may be very different in format, but they still create entertaining tv to watch.

Did you watch The Glass House--boring as hell to me. As much as I hate Rachel Reilly I'd rather her reach a final on merit than be eliminated simply because people, mainly watching an edit, hate her.
Oh I definitely checked out The Glass House.. and it was horrid!! haha That was mainly in part to the public having too much power... I mean evicting is fine in my books... after that though, the housemates should be on their own. Let them write their own story in the house. Also, that whole show was just cheap, and had a very poor cast. But I know what you mean... I can see why the US changed the format after Season 1... but it still works in other areas of the world :P haha different strokes for different folks I guess lol
First few episodes have been so good, Australia definitely have the most comedic housemates, Tim is my favourite.
Stopped watching BB US, then BB UK... But I really feel like I'm going to continue watching BB AU. Great cast and the Saturday showdown is awesome!
Stopped watching BB US altogether lol... Had to catch up with BB UK which sucked because it has been getting pretty boring (and that bee task was so stupid)... but the Gina/Hazel fighting was hilarious to watch. So childish and catty, but so funny to see play out. I will agree that BB AU has the funniest housemates... but no drama.. (just whining from Tully lol). I have a few eps to catch up with on that one too lol

bumping this up because Marley won the latest season!

Just finished watching, really enjoyed this season, somewhat similar to Survivor AU where a lot of cast members don't get a lot of screentime but the big characters are good enough to make the show enjoyable. Big congrats to Marley, such a likable guy. Also continuing the run of black winners on TV this year with Ty(BBCAN), Amber B, DeLeesa(Circle) & Lady Leshurr(Celeb Circle)

hoping Tilly gets on The Challenge

The 'VIP' version of the show that's airing later this year released it's cast. Includes Danny Hayes from this past season, King Luke Loki from Au Survivor, Caitlyn Jenner & Omarosa. Also Bernard Curry from Wentworth! Wasn't expecting to know 5 of the 12 cast members so I'm happy

Omarosa is gonna be too much for this yt *** cast especially in Australia with their fake nice boring selves.

The VIP version started this week, there's been 3 epsiodes so far. Pretty good so far, Luke's carrying the show gameplay wise but there's some other likable people like Bernard, Ellie, Caitlyn and Omarosa. Not a fan at all of how much they're trying to get Omarosa to talk about Trump & Thomas to talk about his sister since I couldn't care less about either but I guess that's what they were paid to come on for.

Lol The winner and they filmed three different ends too. A mess

Yeah I really don't like finale's like that where they make them film different endings. There's no way in hell i could be giving a good genuine reaction to a win that might not even be real.

Super happy with the ending, really liked Ellie, Josh, Bernard and obviously Luke. Matt was the only real dud cast, arguably Dane but he at least had his backstory
