BB10: Where is the twist?
Okay, so... This season on Big Brother, there has only been one mini-twist: Dan was chosen to be America's Player for one week. I know that in the lead-up to the show's premiere this season, a lot of the ads/articles focused on the fact that season 10 was 'returning to it's roots,' as it were, and that part of the twist this season is that there IS no twist (none of the house guests know each other, no one is related, etc.) But I feel like I will be a little let down if there really are no more twists coming! I hope that BB finds a creative way to throw the house guests a curve ball before the season ends, whether it be adding someone to the house, granting a special power, changing the rules for a week, or what have you. And I'm not sure if this was actually talked about on the show or just on feeds/house calls, so I'll hide it:
There has been some talk of an extra keyhole/empty picture frame on the memory wall. Could this mean that perhaps a new player will be introduced? And if so... will it be someone who hasn't lived in the house yet?
Honestly I like that they have toned down on the twists but at the same time wish this season would have a big twist that would shake up the game a little. But honestly I like how it is going now in terms of who is getting evicted and who is getting HOH mostly.
I don't know if they would add a new houseguest this late in the game or being anyone back now. But who knows, they could be holding out for a big payoff
In an interview by Alison Grodner before the season began, I recall her saying that there would not be any twists this season. I don't think she would regard America's Player as a twist, but as something that is an extension of public voting for several seasons. Lame, yes, and she does lie...
the twists in past seasons (which i didnt watch, but heard about) seemed SO RIDICULOUS though. like almost.....unbelievable! no?

I just find this year's cast somewhat boring. It would be nice if something could be done to spice things up a bit. Though I must admit that this past week or two has been more interesting than the entire first part of the season. ...or maybe that's just 'cause i started paying attention to their interactions on the feeds *shrug*
I'd love to see a twist. The truth be told, I am confused as to why we need to go "back to basics." There wasn't anything so wrong with Big Brother 8 that the franchise needed to be stripped down. There was an engaging cast, an interesting twist and great ratings. Just because Alison Grodner underestimated the intelligence of the audience with BB9 doesn't mean that the series should now be devoid of one of its longstanding key components... ...but to put things in perspective: Alison specifically said, "There will be no casting twists" but more encouragingly added, "I'm not saying there won't be twists and turns to keep our people on their toes..." So it could go either way.
I wonder what "people" Grodner was speaking of, the hamsters or the viewers?
Or the ones that live in her head and tell her what to do? :P A twist would be great, I loved BB8 it definitely had a cast that could pull you in and the America's player twist definitely was interesting along with the Enemies twist. Not to mention that season they used double eviction sparingly which was good. So I'd like to see a twist as long as it's a good one and not something like something in a "mystery box".
