The Bachelorette: Generic Thread

We have a premiere date! The Bachelorette, which features Jillian Harris, the 2nd-runner up in season 13 of The Bachelor, will premiere May 18, 2009 on ABC. Filming started just four weeks after the first After The Final Rose ceremony where Jason Mesnick dumped Melissa Rycroft for Molly Malaney. As of April 19, 2009, The Bachelorette is reportedly more than halfway through filming. Harris' The Bachelorette edition will premiere with a special two-hour broadcast on Monday, May 18 at 9PM ET/PT -- immediately after ABC's broadcast of Dancing with the Stars' final eighth-season performance show. I got burned hard last round. Not sure I can wear my heart on my sleeve and play this time.

The last two rounds were just kinda ridiculous. Plus, once the first one ACTUALLY works out, people always expect the most!
Many people vowed to NEVER watch this show again after last season! I can't wait to see how that turns out.

Clearly Melissa made the right move with DWTS. It will be hard for me to watch being it is a bunch of guys going after Jillian.
Many people vowed to NEVER watch this show again after last season! I can't wait to see how that turns out.
I don't want to watch The Bachelor again... The Bachelorette, on the other hand, is a different story. After following her story last season, I'm excited to see if she finds love. Plus, it's man candy! :)

As a guy, the idea of a bunch of beautiful women trying to find love is enticing. However, if Jillian is the prize and that is it....I don't think I can get into a season of that. There is no win, lol. I was screaming, "Dump her!" throughout the Bachelor, so how can this be good? To each their own, but I'm out.

The premiere is Monday! From the commercials, it looks like Jillian will get to choose from 30 guys instead of the normal 25, including 2 foreigners (one from Buenos Aires, one from London). ABC.com has their pictures and bios up, and I gotta say, I'm not too impressed with the goods. There are a few I can drool over though...
And here are some promo photos from the first episode: BuddyTV Slideshow | The Bachelorette: Season 5 Premiere Photos Some of the wardrobe choices are quite questionable (leather jacket, brown shoes/black suit, jeans) but hopefully they won't sway her like the last Bachelorette...
I'm still angry, not sure if I'll watch. However, if it is a show all of you are going to see, I guess I'll******* up and be privy.

I haven't watched Bachelor or Bachelorette in YEARS.
I'm still trying to decide if I can******* up and watch this tonight...
For me, it's TIVO and fast forward through it tomorrow, if reports are good.

I am like an abused girlfriend. I swore that I was done with this show, that Jason burned me (or Melissa I should say) so badly, I couldn't enjoy it again. And yet...I find myself excited about tonight and telling myself things will be different. ABC didn't mean to hurt me, right? ABC will try harder this time around... (I think I need therapy for my reality TV addiction)

BTW, ABC really has little to do with the direction the show takes. They just buy it from Mike Fleiss, having given him some general feedback and direction before casting began.
Sorry...I meant that Melissa was the one that actually got burned by the show.
It will be interesting to see the ratings this show produces. I have heard many say they will not watch because of the travesty of Jason's show. Now people are saying Jillian is different and would not behave like Jason, but I heard the same thing's about Jason. Bottom line is Mike Fleiss does not care about what viewers think, only that they are watching.
She starts off with 25 guys, and through out her season five more will be coming in.
Oh really? That's kind of interesting...where did you hear that?
Oh really? That's kind of interesting...where did you hear that?
Chris Harrison did a blog about it, plus I have a really great Bachelor/Bacheloette board I visit. Pm me if you want it, it is full of insider info.
So is anyone else watching? If I am the only one I'm going to throw on something else. ;)
Hahaha....I know the host's name is Chris Harrison, but my laptop fan is so loud right now that I swear I heard Chris Hanson (you know, the guy on MSNBC Dateline Predator?) I was waiting for him to say, "These 25 bachelors are about to meet Jillian, who they think is a 13 year old girl..." lol
It's not on here yet! But I will be watching it!
DVR for 6 am treadmill watching tomorrow morning.
Ok, I've seen enough. 10 minutes straight of shirtless guys is not my idea of entertainment. Maybe I'll give The Bachelor another shot, but this one isn't for me.
Well hellooooooo Kiptyn...
