Looks like the first leg is pretty interesting:
Two separate flights that were supposed to be a few hours apart ended up being less than 5 minutes apart.
Home from LA! Really dramatic flight! Medical emergency required landing mid way in Honolulu after dumping 30,000 pounds of fuel. Then storms near Fiji diverted us another 2 hours! Got to Sydney and no gate allocated! 8 teams of the "Amazing Race" were on my flight - two sitting next to me - drew maps and helped with their clues for Sydney! What a flight!
Drama!
Also: looks as though Jet and Cord have yet to check in, meaning they are wayyyy behind.
It looks like teams were checking in with Phil and then quickly running off, which makes people believe it's a non-elimination leg and that they are going directly to their next destination.

I guess that could be a good thing near the beginning, but I've never been a fan of the non-elimination round. Although it's always good to see Phil tell a completely exhausted team that the leg isn't over :)

Yeah, I much prefer a non-elim leg to actually be a to be continued leg, that way the first place team still has a lead and the last place team doesn't really catch a break and has to work a little harder to catch up and stay in.
Picture of Kynt and Vyxsin, actually more Kynt, at Manly Oceanworld, in Sydney.

Looks as though the second half of the leg involves Pyrmont Bridge and the Sail to Stop sculpture next to Sydney Town Hall.
Bit of a shakeup: there are two groups, one leaving at 6am and one at 6:30am.
6am group: Jen/Kisha, Mike/Mel, Jaime/Cara, Marge/Luke, Zev/Justin, Kynt/Vyxsin
6:30am group: FT/BE, Ron/Christina, Gary/Mallory, Amanda/Kris, Jet/Cord
The cowboys are apparently still really far behind.
Next leg is supposedly the outback? They were asking about REX Airlines which is a regional airline in Australia.
I hadn't seen TAR12, so I'm rewatching it now. I'm only two episodes in and I already don't like Ron/Christina and really like Kynt/Vyxsin.
So that makes 5 teams that I can stand: Kynt/Vyxsin, Mel/Mike, Amanda/Kris, Zev/Justin, and Gary/Mallory.
I can only stand half of Jaime/Cara, Margie/Luke, and Kisha/Jen (and with the exception of Margie and Luke, can't remember who is who just by looking at them physically).
Flight Time/Big Easy are just...no.
That is almost exactly my list too molds! Only I can't really remember Amanda and Kris which I guess is a good thing because it means they didn't annoy me.
Amanda and Kris got screwed over by the u-turn by Margie and Luke.
Maybe Jet and Cord did get eliminated? But you would think that would put another team on the 6:30...

I was SO mad about that! Amanda/Kris were one of my favorite teams that season. They were so positive.
I believe someone said that Jet/Cord did finally show up to where the other teams were waiting, so they got really really lucky. Looks like we still have another couple hours before they set off.

Teams I can stand: Gary/Mallory, Kynt/Vyxsin, Mel/Mike
Teams I might be able to handle: Zev/Justin
Teams I don't have any recollection of: Amanda/Kris, Jaime/Cara
Teams I could care less about: Flight Time/Big Easy, Ron/Christina, Margie/Luke, Kisha/Jen, Cowboys
I've also gotta say, I really don't think this is an All-Star season. If anything, I'd peg it as a second chance season...
-Zev/Justin lost their passports
-Amanda/Kris got screwed by a U-Turn
-Kisha/Jen got screwed by a U-Turn
-Gary/Mallory had one bad round with directions
I don't know how you can have an All-Star season and not include any of the teams that have won over the last five seasons. Where are the teams like Nick/Starr, Megan/Cheyne, or Tammy/Victor? Or what about Toni/Dallas (who also would have been a great choice for a second chance team). Hell, where are ANY of the teams from TAR 13?

Where are TK/Rachel?? :( I liked them.
SOrry about that double post my phone is acting crazy and won't let me edit. is the first leg over yet?
Technically, yes, but there was no elimination so not really. It's only 4:24 am in Sydney right now so the first group isn't even set to depart for their next task for another hour and a half.
I guess you could say they're running the second half of a TBC leg which would be considered one leg, which would make your answer no.
I would have liked to see the poker player girl team come back. They weren't my favorite but they got a task that was almost impossible for an all girl team to complete and didn't even get to the pit stop. I think they should have got a second chance.
Right now the only team I am REALLY excited about is Kynt/Vyxsin. They were awesome and funny.
Road block: To complete this road block, the person must have great upper body strength.
Kynt: "That's you Vyxsin."

That actually makes a lot of sense. The group of people just didn't scream "all-star" to me. The Globetrotters also had that major meltdown with the phone task I believe and basically just gave up so that's another vote for a second chance season.

I don't even think it would have been fair to bring megan/cheyne back lol. Their lowest placing was 6th and then 5th. Other than that they got 2nd three times and 1st seven times. If this were truly an all-stars season, you would have had to bring these people back. They ran the best race of anyone that's been on the show. A 2nd chance season definitely seems like a better fit for this cast.
Overall I'm highly disappointed with the teams they brought back. I'll be rooting for Kynt/Vyxsin, Gary/Mallory, and Amanda/Kris. I'll be rooting against Flight Time/Big Easy.

Absolutely agreed and I am rooting for the same teams haha. Although if I knew this was going to be a second chance season rather than an All-Star season, I'd feel a little better about the choices. But I still would have preferred to see teams like Maria/Michele or Toni/Dallas over FT/BE and Jen/Kisha.

I would have loved for Maria/Michele and Toni/Dallas to come back. I'm interested to know what teams, if any, turned down the offer to come back and who they were replaced with. Although I can't really imagine anyone turning it down.
