Amazing Race 16: Ep. 8 - You're Like Jason Bourne, Right?
Malaysia greets the teams with vibrant colors and scorching heat, and teams learn that luck has no loyalty during a sweat-drenched test of endurance.
That would be amazing if Jet and Cord went from last to first...looking good so far.
Wow. The cowboys are good. Things aren't looking good for Steve and Allie :(
Did I miss the title, or have they just not said it yet?
Did I miss the title, or have they just not said it yet?
Michael said it in the first 10 minutes.
Must not have been paying attention. aha I really hope Steve and Allie don't go home. Sad cause I like the brothers too. =/
Ahhh it's gonna be one of those pit stop races...but I'm sad about Steve and Allie, it really doesn't look good for them!! The editing makes it look like the brothers were quite a bit ahead. :( Oh wait! Traffic! Oh wait :(
Dang I was really really rooting for them. =/
I always tend to like the relative teams (siblings, father/mother/daughter/son) teams more than the dating and married teams. I don't know what it is...maybe it's because I think their fights don't seem to be as obnoxious.
I hadn't noticed until you mentioned it, but I do too.
Aww sad to see Steve and Allie go. I liked them and they didn't get a ton of airtime. At least they got a win under their belt before leaving.
I just realized that Steve and Allie went from first to last and the cowboys went from last to first. I don't think that's ever happened before.
I'm surprised CBS went with a true "alpha male" team this year. They've been avoiding that pairing as much as possible after the early seasons were dominated by alpha male teams. I doubt many other teams could have completed the flag balancing - if they had all day! That is a lot of weight for someone like Allie to hold (based on the size of her neck) let alone move it forward and keep it balanced. This season has been very Cowboy friendly. I like the Cowboys, but just feel that the tasks have gone away from the old school mix of fear vs. brains or physical vs. tedious. Last night's episode was a microcosm for the season in which both tasks were physical and favored the Cowboys. Honestly, even if the cowboys had chosen the other task, they still would have left the temple first (as they'd probably have hauled 4 each trip) completed the speed bump and finished in the top 3. That being said, I enjoyed Steve and Allie, but they were clearly the weakest team remaining in just about every game aspect...

I agree that a lot of tasks have favored the cowboys and probably the cops if one of them wasn't coughing up lung half the time! I don't think Steve and Allie were the weakest though. Out of the teams left they had done consistently the best next to the cowboys. This week it just seemed like they couldn't get everything to work in their favor. They had a bad cab driver, got turned around, tried doing the pole task which I agree seemed to be unfairly favored towards a team like the cowboys, then got to the other task too late to make up the lost time. I think the lesbians are the weakest. They lack good communication and don't seem very supportive of each other during tasks. That can really hurt a team, like struggling to carry the poles last night, and cause you to make stupid mistakes, like forgetting a coconut and not controlling a turtle. I think they are probably physically stronger than some teams but I think they have also lucked out by others making a mistake that saves them from elimination most of the time. You could also say Brent and Caite are the weakest. They have finished near the bottom the most and have continued to make horrible stupid mistakes that cost them finishing near the top and running good race they are quite capable to running. They are younger and are able to complete physical tasks faster but they can't read a freakin' clue correctly for the life of them! They seem to be way more focused on ousting other teams they don't like than doing the best they can for themselves.
