Wow, they skipped right through the ubiquitous race to the airport part of the show! An Amazing Race first. I guess there are more entertaining things to show in the first episode. Awesome. [B]Edit:[/B] Is this moving at light speed or is it just me? 9 minutes in and they have raced to the airport, borded planes, landed, got on trains and are on their way to the next destination. There must be new editors in town...

It isn't just you... This episode so far has been really fast paced, and it's only been on for 10 minutes. Lol. Things aren't looking goodfor Preston and Jennifer.

After episode 1, I am sticking with my initial prediction that the sibling lawyers would win it all as they are smart, athletic and definitely ruthless. I don't have a favorite yet, although there are a lot of teams that I [I]could [/I]like. I think it will take me another week to feel things out. I think it was a good start to the season!

I like the new editing format that this season looks to be taking, the split screen before transition is pretty cool. I like the cast, and I'm glad to see Preston & Jennifer go, they probably wouldn't have brought anything interesting to the show that we haven't seen every season with one of the young couples. I like Linda, Margie & Luke, and Vic & his sister (the lawyers)

The standard TAR episode usually involves 20 minutes in the airport fighting over getting that special flight, then we go to commercial and when we come back they all end up on the same plane... I think if they keep with the faster paced editing and spend more time on the in country footage rather than the transit, this season could really stand out.

Based on the first episode, I think I am going to like this season a lot. The road block was awesome! I hope they have more exciting tasks like that in the future. I also loved how they edited the whole show. I definitely noticed a change... but it was a good change. :D If I had to pick a favorites, it would be Kris and Amanda, Margie and Luke, Victor and Tammy. I think there are going to be a lot of likable teams this season.

Are there going to be no non-eliminations this season? Phil usually says something like "12 legs and 9 of them will be elimination points" but this time he just said if you're last, you're out.

I remember a few seasons back the producers "lied" about there being none, which had me convinced...and then out of nowhere, bang - "you were the last to arrive at the pit stop, [I]*long pause*[/I] the good news is..." ;)

I really liked the start to the new season! The faster pace really helped I think. I also feel like there will be a lot of like-able teams, and I am happy to see Preston and Jennifer go as well. The bungee jump was awesome, I don't know if I could have done it, the springing back up aspect always freaked me out I would much rather jump out of a plane! haha.

This new start was great! I was glad to see Preston and Jennifer go (what a Southern gentleman...and you know you've let your teammate down when they have to give you a piggy back ride to the pit stop) and I think I'm in agreement with lots of people when I say my early favorites are Victor and Tammy, Margie and Luke, and Amanda and Kris. Great editing!!! It was fast-paced and exciting. That road block would have scared the bejesus out of me.

This opening kind of pulled the show back to its roots as season 1 episode 1 they did an uber bungee off Victoria Falls Bridge Zambia and that is what I always thought was the defining moment of the show (i.e. got me hooked.) They also did a 450 ft jump off the Nevis Highwire platform in Australia in season 2. TAR is all about the bungee!
