Amazing Race 12 has the series' best debut ever
The Amazing Race 12's debut may have been delayed by a half-hour for most of the country, but it debuted with the series' highest ratings yet. 13.8 million people watched, which is "the largest premiere audience ever for the five time Emmy Award-winning reality show," according to CBS. This is really good news for the future of TAR. CBS must be happy with the ratings. At the same time they are probably kicking themselves for not launching this show early in the fall and having another one all ready for spring like they normally do. I am sure they wasted a small fortune on Viva la Sucks being that they pulled the plug without recouping anything from the pre-produced shows in the can...
I wasn't surprised by the ratings increase. There is nothing on Sunday nights anymore. I remember Sunday used to be a busy night for me, before TAR came back on I was only watching Desperate Housewives at 9pm. I think the ratings are a bunch of hooey anyway, until they can track every viewer and their habits ... they mean nothing to me.
