The Amazing Finale?
I thought it was a good end to a good season. There were no personalities that loomed as large as in years past, but in the end there was a deserving winner in TK and Rachel. I am especially happy, being that I picked them after watching the first episode, which just goes to re-enforce my belief that I have reality show precognitive abilities. ;) Hmmm, I wonder if Nicolas ever finished that puzzle? I bet he didn't! Otherwise they would have edited it in 10 seconds after Ron and Christina left. I bet they put them in a cab when the outcome became clear. It was great to see Christina and Ron have such a storybook race. Win or lose, they came out on top with their relationship. That is really the most important thing. You can't buy an experience like the Amazing Race for all the money in the world. It is the most insane, off the wall, torturous psycho therapy known to man - and it like it worked for them. I am looking forward to Amazing Race 13 already! As soon as those last credits roll and there is no preview for next week, I get a little pit in my stomach. The only thing I think we were missing this season was a villain ala Colin, Romber, Johnathan or the Pageant Gals. I know it is hard to get the right balance and I am not complaining (much.) Hopefully casting gets it right and we are given another amazing journey this Spring/Summer!
Ratings note from last week:
Earlier in the evening on CBS was veteran 60 Minutes (Viewers: #2, 9.49 million; A18-49: #3, 1.9/ 5) and The Amazing Race 12 (Viewers: #2, 11.63 million; A18-49: #3, 3.8/ 9) from 7-9 p.m. Worth noting for The Amazing Race was growth of 2.14 million viewers and 100 percent in the demo out of 60 Minutes.
Amazing Race growing out of 60 Minutes? That is insane! Very good news for the franchise. Expect Amazing Race 14 to be green lit almost immediately (with 13 already in pre-production!)
I actually watched the episode and it made me wish I had made a priority to watch the entire season. The last ep I saw the brother and sister team seemed destined to win the race as they always came in first. But I liked TK and Rachel, as well as Christina and Ron. But what happened to the bro/sis, how did they lose their edge?

They were out of it at that point and came in last on the leg.

This off the subject, sorta, but do you remember the husband/wife team from Ms? Dr. Lake Garner and his wife from Hattiesburg? He is my dentist, and he disappeared during the filming and there were rumors that he was in rehab, nobody knew what was going on, of course he was not, just filming. It was scandalous because he called his wife a ***** on TV. There were letters to the editor, he lost patients because of it. The kids at his children's school would harass his kids over the things he would say too. I think he referred to the African-American couple as the black people. I think people on message boards were mad about that too, called him racist. He got the biggest head over that, still talks about it after all these years. Thought about it not too long ago and was wondering if anybody remembered him.
