24 is almost definitely canceled. Ratings are slowly declining and production costs keep rising. Fox is likely to pull the plug.
I can't say I'm too disappointed because I did kind of expect this. It had a long, good run but the suspense just isn't there anymore.
At least we have a movie coming!
Ya, but if it is not a 24 hour movie, will it really make sense?
haha Redemption made sense! oh wait...that was 2 hours though....
Um...
Well....
I'll watch a 24 hour movie. haha
EMP! Sweet. Dana might have a fighting chance if all the records are destroyed!
Yup - Dana looks like she'll get lucky on this one! The EMP twist was reallllly cool! I didn't predict it at all! We kept trying to, and came up with nothing!
AAAAAH this episode was BRILLIANTTTTTTT (and yes, I'm talking about '24'!)
This episode gave me just what I needed - a Chloe fix! They've finally made Chloe a part of the new CTU team...it didn't happen right away, but I'm glad Rajskub finally got some decent lines, scenes, and story. All part of Season 8's slow build theme...
The beginning of the season was a little slow...but we've seen constant action in these last couple episodes! It's totally picked up, and that's made me a very, very happy fan.
This part I'm going to put in spoiler tags....don't read unless you've seen the episode...
I DIDNT SEE THE TWIST COMING AT ALLLLL! Ok, so Dana's C-story. There's always a 24 storyline that doesn't really matter, aggravates the viewers, and has nothing to do with the main A-storyline. But '24' has finally done the impossible - connecting the circle - the annoying storyline shifted nicely into the main one...and BAM!
I know what you're thinking - but they're done the Mole storyline soooo many times and that it's old. Yes, it is old. But this is definitely a fresh way to present it! There's no WAY anyone could've seen this coming because we were either A) too enthralled into Dana's storyling re: Kevin and his parole officer or B) just really annoyed/not caring about Dana. Whichever side of that you were on - the mole thing was definitely a solid twist! I knew she had to have a darker background than they had provided! They were like 'oh she was an accessory to murder....but shes started anew!' and it seemed too fabricated! I loved it. Loved the twist, and loved this episode. In addition - I bet the producers just wanted to get their moneys worth out of Sackhoff! They're really workin' her!
Don't cancel 24 Fox....pleeeeseeee!
I loved the twist, but am not happy she is a bad guy. ::sigh:: I'll never look at my Starbuck the same again, lol.
I have to say, the way she brutally murdered the parole officer with the garrote made me think something was a little askew, but I didn't know she was a mole.
IM FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW MAN! ahhhhhhhh
The payoff for being a loyal 24 fan for all these years is so paying off right now. The last 2 episodes. I'm speechless. Literally. I can't believe they even went there.
You guys haaaave to watch the last 2 eps!
I've been watching. Two silent counts...
I was honestly not a big fan of Renee after she "went dark" and I am also not a fan of Mr. Crook president showing up again as it is just so predictable that he is going to create some new mess.
I thought the episodes were good, but not especially great. Chloe running CTU? Come on! Like she has any people or management skills. She is a great analyst, but that is a bridge too far for me.
I think next week will be more my speed with evil revenge mode Jack and more Katee Sackhoff.
The real issue is that they have done everything already, so nothing is shocking anymore. Renee died and Jack did his sad face and that was that. I really didn't feel I thing. Maybe I've grown cold. I'm glad this is the last season and I'll surely watch until the end - but there definitely is a staleness, IMHO.

Edit: I'm not saying I didn't appreciate the episodes, but you have to remember that 24 was genre bending when it first came out. They were the first show where any of the leads could be killed off at any time. Now it is kind of old hat and almost expected. The yearly purge. Of course, I know you are a superfan RSV, so I'll stop raining on your parade. ;)
No, sir, you aren't raining on my parade at all - I do think all of your counterpoints are extremely validated! I just really, really liked Renee! BAHHH
Yes, the series is a liiittle stale, but I'm really optimistic about it simply because I love Jack, love Kiefer, and like you said, am a superfan. Even terrible 24 is better to me than most **** on TV, but this season is definitely better than terrible!
Plot-wise, I think it's even better than last year (though I wouldn't rate it higher than S7 due to the Tony Almeida factor).
But I was incredibly shocked that we're have two silent countdowns in two episodes. That **** is insanity!
