Another fantastic episode! EW had a feature in the latest issue about 24 being back on track. Worth checkin' out, though nothing new if you're keeping up. Next week looks so good! Looks like Walker is going to crack soon. Mental breakdowns are always fun to watch haha
(I didn't read your comment. I'm behind on my viewing schedule as I made the mistake of watching Heroes last night. Will catch the episode later this evening.)
hahahaha "the mistake" of watching Heroes
Another fantastic episode! EW had a feature in the latest issue about 24 being back on track. Worth checkin' out, though nothing new if you're keeping up. Next week looks so good! Looks like Walker is going to crack soon. Mental breakdowns are always fun to watch haha
I agree that it was another great episode, although there is still something formulaic about how the plot unfolds. You had to know as soon as Jack convinced the girlfriend that Dubaku was an evil man that they would have to use her to get to him (isn't that always the case?) Still, I am keen to let those things slide as overall I am enjoying the pace of the show. It looks like the second half will be based on the bigger conspiracy and we will find out who all those agents that were helping Dubaku actually are. Funniest moment: When Renee is at the laptop pushing buttons and she tells Jack they can not get anything off of it as, "The hard drive must be fried." - BUT as they pan out you can see all the windows desktop icons (looked like windows 98.) Hahaha. I love 24 computer world. Every time someone says "socket" I giggle (and they say it a lot!)
Yep. Sockets, schematics, etc - it's all equally ridiculous haha
Even though I enjoyed this episode, I now present to you an email I received from my friend Gordy. Note: he's a HUGE 24 fan, and never, ever complains about the show. ---- Dear friends of 24, I have never been more disappointed with a 2 hour event. Nick, sorry Im not texting you back but there arent enough characters in a text to get this across. Of all the things that 24 has you believe, all the things that we know would never happen, but just accept cuz its Bauer, this is the worst. 12-15 armed men break into the white house and take the President hostage. CMON! First of all is the White House within 100 feet of water? Cuz thats what it seemed like. I honestly dont know, I dont think it is, but could be wrong. Second of all how bout that wall they broke thru, made of patchy bricks, Im sure that exists. If there is a sewer thing that lead to this brick wall, Im sure its backed up by multiple armed people. Next when they made it into that heavily secured room, HOW DID THEY 5 SECONDS LATER MAKE IT TO THE FLOOR OF THE WHITE HOUSE!?!!??! once again, no gaurds? Im sure they could have been killed off camera, so ill let it go. Where was the army, or national gaurd, you know they guys you ALWAYS see with heavey machine guns at the white house? Now its just SS with handguns. Now onto the text I sent you, Im sure, 100% possative that the second DC becomes the target of a terroist attack, that the president is moved to the underground bunker. I know these guys came from undergoround, but Im guessing all the heavy armed gaurds were probably down at the bunker when 15 guys took over the white house. INSANE! FOR 30 MINUTES THEY KNEW IT WAS DC AND DID NOTHING WITH THE PRESIDENT, NOTHING!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Back to the water way, if that exists, how many coast gaurd ships are patroling it? did thye not see the large boat with bright lights and investigate? I know im kinda nitpicking now, but this is worse than believeing there is a magic potion that keeps 24 characters alive, I can believe that (prbly cuz I have a special place in my heart for Tony). I could believe Jack could be high on heorin one hour and capping bad guys the next. But break into the white house? get off of it. I honeslty feel like they insulted our intelligence. Too much BS, not enough Tony. I do see the pres. daughter being killed and Jack reaching out to Kim. I do like the fact that now there is another storyline with this shipment, which means the White House thing will end soon, which is good. Whats next, let me guess, This was well on its way to being one of the best seasons yet....now, its pushing season 6, simply because its the most unbelieveable thing Ive ever seen....whats next Jack takes on Martians and stops them from destroying the Sun? We just wasted two hours of our lives
I agree with many of his points. It was beyond ridiculous. Especially the fact that the secret service couldn't muster as much as a bb gun to fight back. I felt the "contrived" alarm go off. Then the worst part for me came. As soon as I saw the first daughter still in the building the next hour was a predictable path to when she would get caught and then the torture hostage cycle would begin that would lure the president out of the lock down (as usual.) Actually, this entire episode had the deja vu all over again feeling to it. When Chloe was being taken away she had a look that said, "This is only the 456 time I've done this perp walk scene in the last 7 years. Don't worry, there will be a reason for my release soon." However, what bothered me most about the episode was the moralistic push to sell torture. "Ah-ha! If we would have let Jack electrocute that guy's ***** all would be well and we would be drinking martinis right now by the pool. See, torture is a good thing!" Anyway, all complaints aside I still think this is better than last season although I suspect that this show has run out of new ways to approach things and should probably close its doors after this run.

I mean...I'm still a fan, and as I've always said - when 24 is good, its gooood and when it's bad, it can still be a fun ride. Yes, the Chloe thing was lame, yes the first daughter getting captured, predictable. But hey! Like you said - still WAY better than 6! And Season 8 is happening. It's the last season on contract...not sure if you knew that?
And Season 8 is happening. It's the last season on contract...not sure if you knew that?
Yes, I heard. I am not sure that they should do it. ;)
Yes, I heard. I am not sure that they should do it. ;)
Yeah...I hear ya. I mean - I'm glad it's happening. But if it turns out that it gets totally burned to the ground, I'll be sad that it went down that way. I just hope Season 8 is epic. At least in the final characterization / story of Mr. Bauer.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
R.I.P. Bill Buchanan. YOU WILL BE MISSED. Silent countdowns are so sadddddddddd
AHHHHHHHHHHH This episode was good in that it set up LOTS of questions for the rest of the season to answer: 1. Will the president's daughter uncover more corruption in the presidency? 2. WHAT HAPPENED TO MARTHA LOGAN!?!? 3. Where the HELL is Tony and what is he up to? 4. Will Morris be able to find Bauer to get Chloe off the hook? 5. Will Walker help Bauer now that she's relieved of duty? Still rockin'
I thought the episode was entertaining. It moved quicker than I thought it would and that made it all the better. I hate waiting for an hour for the obvious to happen. Sad to see Bill gone for real. He was always a favorite. I didn't like the fact that Jack had to be set up as usual at the hospital. Very 24ish to pull that rabbit out of that hat for the umpteenth time, but I guess they need to do what they can to get Jack back out into the wild and chased by his own people, again, again, again. Next week looks good, and I am not really complaining. I'm just stating that there is a repetitive nature to the show (much like my weekly comments.) I suspect, you can either roll with it or let it get to you and for now I'm still rolling. ;)
I totally agree! When Jack was being set up again....we were all kinda like "ooooh here we go again!" But you nailed it - its way more fun to just roll with the punches and enjoy all the death and torture along the way haha RIP BILL
I had this show on the back burner for a couple of weeks, but finally caught up. Not much to say other then it is rolling right along and still entertaining (although we are digging deep into the 24 cliche well.) I highly doubt Jack is infected, and if he is they obviously will "catch it in time." Season 8 is in the works so he obviously makes it. However, they did mention that it takes 24 hours to kill, so maybe they do a play on DOA (a film with a classic opening - i.e. I'd like to report a murder. My own.) and have him running about with a death sentence (and then of course find a miracle cure at the end.) On a side note, I hate the presidents daughter. It was clear she was dirty from the start. Hopefully she goes down in a giant ball of flames...

That said - I hope Pres. Taylor sticks around for Day 8! I like the President and I like all the b-stories happening around her.

Or why there are palm trees in the background as a plane takes off from "National Airport." Or why the season-opening Congressional hearing on "24" started at 8 a.m. In the real Washington, nothing official starts at such an ungodly hour.
I second the following quotes: "The only people who really care about this are people with too much time on their hands," he [Gordon] said. and "I'm sure for local pride, folks who live in D.C. would like it to be portrayed as accurately as possible," says Josh Friedman, a spokesman for the film office. "But no matter what, it's always [an economic] boost for the city." It's 24 Hardcore fans are obviously OK with stuff like this since we're still watching the 7th season of the show haha I mean...its a tough line to walk. I do agree that the White House plot was kind of cool, but 100% implausible. But then again, the things like mileage and whatnot don't really bother me, yanno? I thought last night's episode was really good! CANT WAIT for next week! 24 still remains 1 of like 2 shows that I watch live and in real-time as opposed to DVRing.
I agree with what you are saying, I just found it funny. Especially the White house plot which even the least geographically challenged viewer was probably questioning. It only takes a quick "White House Aerial View" google search to realize that the White house does not immediately border a body of water. I thought it was another good episode. I do question agent Walker's tears for Jack. When she found out that he was infected, she acted like she had know him for years, not a few hours - lol. Still, there was a nice double cross to keep things rolling and I knew that there was no way they were going to get the weapon last night as May sweeps is still weeks away. There has to be much more to this (including Jack getting tortured for some random reason.) Do you think they will cure him this season? Or will the next chapter start with him at some world famous hospital in another city while they work for a cure? It said in that above article that they are done with DC. I'd say the logic place to go next would be New York or Boston. Keep it on the east coast and in a major metro area with lots of soft targets.

Maybe that depends on if they're going to do a movie series or not...? If that's not their intention, they can leave Jack infected well into Day 8! New York would be AWESOME! The White House. A body of water. Oh man haha
I think 24 might be losing a little steam. I am not sure how they are going to drag out this standoff for another month plus, but I get the feeling that next week's episode (from the preview) is going to be tedious...

I'm sure it'll happen... They mentioned Kim last night! and...
Elisha Cuthbert is uncredited in next week's episode and then is in the show until the very end, I believe...give or take 1 episode
Alright, the bottom just dropped out of the show for me. Yes, I know that Tony turning was supposed to be a dramatic turn - but first of all we kind of called it before the show even started and secondly it is just stupid at this point. After all he has been through he is going to turn in the end for a canister of the bioweapon? Umm, not so much. Maybe there is more to it, but at this point I am extremely disappointed.
Maybe there is more to it, but at this point I am extremely disappointed.
Me too, I think they ran out of story line and needed something to fill the rest of the season with.

Clearly...it was the only way they wanted to end the season. I'm sure that there's more to it though. Gotta be some reason behind his madness. I'm just PRAYING that Tony doesn't kidnap Kim. I'm OK with her being on the show, but enough bad storylines for Kim.
I totally called it. :D 24: Jack Bauer Becomes a New Yorker
I am dreading 24 tonight. I don't think I am going to watch it.
I am dreading 24 tonight. I don't think I am going to watch it.
The episode was SO GOOD! And I didn't want to believe it but...
Moss is DEAAAAAD!
spoilers from tonight's episode
The daughter Olivia was going to have Hodges killed. She talked to the assassin dude and he said wire the money and he'd finish the job and they wouldnt have to speak again. She was about to do it until her dad sent aaron bc he wanted to talk to her....he was moved to the white house after he woke up. She totally chickens out and hits CANCEL on the wire transfer. Later...as Hodges is being transported with his new name/identity.....BOOOOOM the car explodes and he's deeeead. Pres and Olivia get the call that it happened and she FREAKS OUT. She's now on her way to go talk to the guy that set her up with the assassin. For some reason...they killed him anyways! Tony continues exploiting the guy they're preparing to frame...Jack and Chloe and Renee end up getting an address where they were holding the guy they're framing. Right when they get there...the brother being held hostage stabs the 1 guy the FBI needs to question (classic 24 move). So that guy lays dying, Tony and his men are in route to release the bio-weapon in the subway, andddddd I think that's it.
In non spoilery news: i think Aaron is close to figuring out Olivia's bs!
I've lost all the 24 fans! BOOOO Kim is in danger again! A perfect setup to watch the 2 HOUR FINALE ON MONDAY THE 18th! doooo ittttt
