Hopefully, the Socceroos will win their next match.

La fiera roja, you're breakin' my heart...
I don't know about anyone else...but what really irritates me about soccer, and I love soccer, is the games ending in ties!!! Who thought of these stupid rules!? BTW, Ronaldo is smokin' hott :)

John Wayne is an American The Duke's last classic film, "True Grit," exemplifies how this team is playing. Starting with the opportunity to crumble utterly during the Confederations Cup, the U.S. thrashed Egypt to squeeze into the semis, handed Spain its first international loss in three years and went up 2-0 on the vaunted Brazilians in the final (then the clock struck midnight, but that's a different tale). Just one year later, this same team has stormed back from a fourth-minute deficit against mighty England, and an even deeper 2-0 hole versus a superbly disciplined Slovenia outfit. In other words -- don't mess with true grit, pilgrim.
Ok, I'm going to be honest and say the Vuvuzelas are driving me crazy this morning...
****it....offside.
Clearly the US is not going to get the calls today... Edit: Replay shows it. Another disallowed genuine Goal. :(
I was gunna come on and say the same thing, Bacchus :( Robbed I tell you, robbed!
What a load of crap. The game's not over yet, but clearly the US now knows that England is up and that they need to start applying more pressure. Applying more pressure = bringing more people up on the attack = leaving less back on defense = opening themselves up for a counter attack. And if that Algeria goal would have gone it, it would have been one of the best goals in the entire tournament. It was a beautiful hit. I'm nervous...
If we end up drawing or losing this match, it will come down to many, many, many missed opportunities.
Gooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal!
Did that just really happen?
Did that just really happen?
I was actually in the middle of typing my, "Why the World Cup is over (for me) and I am going back to watching baseball" manifesto...lol.
I was actually in the middle of typing my, "Why the World Cup is over (for me) and I am going back to watching baseball" manifesto...lol.
I had to clean frosting off the television because I threw a cupcake at it in the midst of my excitement. I'm lucky I didn't break my laptop, because I jumped up in such a hurry too...
See ya later, Italy. Can't say I'm sad to see you or France go.
