Mike White coming back is kind of iconic lol Not an OG fan so maybe my cares for OGs are much smaller than most but I feel like most shows that do monumental seasons tend to have a lot more recent people and it makes sense to me. 1. You get current viewers who didn't watch back when season 1 was airing and 2. It shows all viewers new and old their new crop of players. It shows the show still produces solid players in the new gen so I get it. Thats how you get people to tune into 51.
6-8 from the new era would have been enough. 9 from 4 seasons wasn't necessary. The new era has been heavily criticized and disliked. This season is celebrating 25 years. Representation should be fair and balanced. Bad take. Next.

Survivor has a long standing loyal fanbase. I've read the comments on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Majority of complaints are that there's so many new era players on this. I said I was fine with doing 8 new era players and doing a battle of the eras. It was a pretty simple and perfect concept. It's bad casting and bad decision making.

Rob made fun of the Emoji movie and Mike was butthurt over it lol. Pettiest/funniest feud. Mike wasn't dropping over that and it would have been funny to see play out. A missed opportunity. Rob was the OG nerd that paved the way for Christian and Charlie, him not being cast is a crime and I hate RHAP.

For a season with a stupid name like "In The Hands of The Fans" there should have been votes on which eras we wanted to see cast from, if we wanted more villains, strategist, loyal players, etc. Truly we should have voted on the entire cast or at least half of it like BB7 did.

I'm fully convinced Survivor as a competition and reality show has completely run its course with Probst in charge. And I am/was a HUGE Survivor fan. I've been watching this show since Season 1. 25 years. I was a little kid to a grownazz adult.
Casting is still pretty **** good IMO. 48 sucked but the hit rate on entertaining castmembers overall for Survivor is like 65-70%. That's borderline fantastic to maintain that level over 25 years. There are seasons where 10 of the 18 castmembers suck, but there's way more seasons where 12 or 13 of the 18 are fun to watch and are entertaining. It's the dull format and terrible twists that are killing the show.
The show needs to put Probst into the retirement home.
