Which is weird because they normally start out with double eliminations then there's a format change where it switches to single eliminations
Can't blame them for reversing it after the switch from double to single eliminations absolutely murdered the momentum of Season 40. It was unwatchable at the end of the season. If they don't want to have 2 eliminations per episode to have more episodes, it is far better to have 1 elimination in the early episodes when there are more people to create a compelling show vs 8 straight episodes of Bananas vs Tori and nothing else.
Season Forty was doomed from the beginning when they decided to send 8 people home in one elimination cycle. It was stupid and ridiculous that elimination cycle single handily killed the momentum of the season before it even began. Whoever idea that was should've been fired and you're right that season should not have been double eliminations. If we got single eliminations at the beginning I bet you we would've gotten a better season than the mess we ended up with
