The DVR botching was the icing on the cake. I pay for cable and I still had to pirate it.
I actually expected worse, lol. There was a lack of promotion. We just finished a 20-episode season. The transition from streaming to cable, along with spin-offs on MTV, has historically performed worse than the flagship show.
300k is awesome--hopefully people like the shorter episodes and they take the hint
Every single complaint I read online was: "Where's the last 15 minutes? Where's the elimination?"
Any time there isn't a "mission, vote and elimination" that's a problem but that should only be the first episode
90 minutes isn't needed--it's one of the biggest issues with the current show. What you said above is why Rivals 3 is impossible to watch (nothing happnes) but this was just to introduce people and get them the episode count they needed.

I guess they didnt like that many people were just making new emails every week just to watch the show. The first episode of allstars is currently for free on the website but the rest of the episodes will not be like how they did on 40
With Season 40 fatigue and an objectively weak "casual fan" cast, I expect Episode 1 to sadly be around 175k.

Wow, way better than I thought. Better than some episodes of 39. For the lack of effort and money put into marketing and airing this, it's a HUGE win.

I think it didn't decline too much because it aired the week after 40 finished... if it aired weeks or months after probably woulda been under 300k

excluding basketball & the news, this was #3 on cable, only behind AEW: Dynamite, and The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City
Hopefully with people adding it to their DVRs it keeps growing. I want to see this out perform the main show so bad lol.
