to be fair him volunteering would have also meant sacrificing cara, who never did anything wrong to him. derek would have gotten wrecked by derrick, so i guess he made the right choice. cara vs rachel would have been 50/50, as rachel has experience and size advantage, but cara does a lot of kickboxing, is younger, and wouldn't hold back. not everyone can be as loyal and real as averey
