The problem has always been about production choosing a select few to cast for every season and revolve the show around them. Because of that the show got suppppper boring since the same storylines got repeated and people treated this as a job. Ironically prodction seems to always choose the most boring people and/or unfunny/uninteresting person to keep casting for like x seasons in a row. The success of this show (and concept that a lot of shows copy nowadays) was about groups getting together and "compete" (back in the days it was more so fun competion). The flagship shows Real World and Road Rules. And the hate also steems from people not letting it go for a change. Bananas has done 22 season (or more counting spin offs) and still complains when he isnt cast. Nobody would say anything if Bananas took breaks but noooo he keeps on getting cast and actively put it in his contract that he does 5 seasons in a row....

Doing a competition show season after season with no breaks is crazy. Especially when they did two seasons a year.
