Watching John and Vince be straight up racist was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever watxhed on the challenge.
It wasn't straight up racism. John is a horrible human in MANY ways but I don't think his intent was racist. We watched him haze people for years. It was just him being a dòúcħe frat guy.

They just hooked up a bit on the show and remained good friends that deeply cared for each other, but no lasting romance beyond that season. They did talk on the Duel too, it just wasn't shown much because Diem/CT was more interesting a storyline. Derek was who yelled out Diem looked good when she took her wig off in the mud challenge.

I can speak as a white man who jokingly calls people by the wrong name. But I'm not like KVM, I won't go in circles repeating the same thing. Everyone is entitled to their own people based on their experiences in this case. And I especially won't die on a hill that involves defending that freak John lol.
Hazing people and messing with people is part of the experience, but I agree that sometimes you gotta read the room. When the other person isn't laughing, it's time to stop.

When I had the chance to meet Derrick, I had him sign his picture on a collage I had made (I think it was maybe fresh meat cast, I just remember picking one that had he and Darrell both on since I'd get to meet both of them) and he saw Diem on the photo and instinctively put a heart and it was such a genuine moment. Like he didn't even realize what he was doing anymore he just saw Diem and naturally had that reaction. He told me that she was the first person he ever felt true love for.
On the hazing thing, I hate that the mentality has always been you have to put up with shit I order to make it through as like a proud tradition thing. It's fine as long as a line isn't crossed, but back in the older seasons the line was consistently crossed and ignored (today less so, now instead of screaming and yelling heinous things at those you don't like you just throw them into eliminations over and over lol). I just hated the old school mentality of if you didn't want to be treated poorly you were weak.
Unrelated but Nelson is on his "woe is me" bs as if he didn't drive intoxicated potentially harming others. My god I do not like that man.
I've never liked Nelson so I'm biased, but asking for sympathy after misleading fans in order to make a profit is ridiculous. I hope that he has a fast healing process, and a happy and healthy life away from the show, but he needs to stop playing the victim card. Everyone makes mistakes, just own it and try to do better.
I get he made a terrible decision that I don't agree with but losing his leg is tragic. He made a bad decision and his whole life is forever changed. It's a sad situation. If you don't like him, don't follow him?
I trauma dumped in his thread a lot that day because it hit home but he did still lose a limb. I think he's on the path to doing better. I can forgive when behavior seems to be moving in a different direction

It's definitely a situation that hit's differently based on ones personal experiences. I've been lucky to never dealt with trauma related to a DUI so it's easy for me to be more forgiving. It's a blessing no one else is hurt and hopefully that was a rock bottom moment that has caused him to make changes to ensure it never happens again. I get why he'd have a hard time with it, he lost the limb and there's probably lots of self anger and hate that go with it too. I'm sure it's all a huge emotional toll.

The vets really dominated the 20's, even moreso than the 30's. Rookies making it past episode six or so was super rare. And then since they only got six or so episodes (in a large cast) they didn't get the callbacks.
Adam Kuhn is the only "rando" casting I could see outside of Johnny Reilly. Adam won three eliminations and was seconds from a fourth. I guess I could see Bruno as a truly out there casting but the guy was on one friggin episodes. That would be bizarre.
I'm convinced it's Jordan because if he was in this race that ran till the 16th, I'm sure something would be posted. He didn't race
