I have a friend trying to argue Austin played a way better game than Dee. I only paid attention like 60% of the season. Can someone who actually can focus for 90 minutes explain to me all Dee's amazing and ruthless moves?
IMO Dee was always the dom in that duo and led Austin to most decisions. Orchasrating the Julie idol alone showed Austin didn't have control of the game. Was Dee ever even in danger once? She knew what was going down almost every week and won immunities. Dominant winner.
Sooo glad Queen Dee won and shocked someone I was rooting for from the start not only won but became a goat level winner. Need to see her on all shows available.

They played very similar the difference though is Dee kept secrets and a blindside from Austin, while Austin told Dee everything.
All of reba tbh played via group think. I think she pushed for Jay and Sifu in the late pre jury.... but the edit give the nerd Drew most of the "stragetgic credit" which is probably why your friend thinks Austin played better since they were close.
Well. So predictably due to the damn leakage it was not a surprise that Dee won and even though I will congratulate her, the season was so boring I snoozed through so many episodes so I did not even know about the Dee/Austin showmance.

Felt like Yam Yam was just there. Jury didn't care about gameplay. This is why we need the old format back of FTC. CBS and Jeff really ruining Survivor. This "new era" shit is annoying. The three tribes the past 5 seasons is getting old. They need to change it around before more people get tired of the show.
Maryanne sucked. Definition of the problems with the new era. Did nothing all game then made one big move to show off to the jury. Then for some reason the nerds on the jury were impressed with her whipping out an idol she never used like there isn't 20 of those things in their backyard jungle
I just realized Jeff didn't make them discuss the outweigh, outplay and outlast portions of the game. Right? This was actually a pretty good jury segment because it felt like the jury asked the questions they wanted to, without interrupting the finalists speech.

the thing is, austin didn't need either of the idols he misplayed. there's something to be said for not needing to use idols. his position jn the game remains the same whether he used them correctly or not. but the fact dee didn't have any advantages or idols to begin with helps her case
Austin represents everything wrong with this new era shit tbh. The obsession over pointless advantages and idols over actual gameplay.
This. Especially the fire thing. It píşșes me off that anyone cares about who can strike flint the best. The fact that a 5 minute Challenge can sway the jury is a major flaw in the game. There are so many advanatges now, that using them isn't impressive or exciting. Maneuvering around all Jeff's game killing twist and still winning is more impressive to me.
