I think the format of mercenaries killed any potential this season could've had. Who would've thought having the outcast facing vets would be cute for over half the game?
No way for the minority alliance to reduce the majority's numbers.
And, that's been the issue with the last two seasons, it's too vet catered. I'll give ROD some credit because they all had to win an elimination but the format was still in most of their favors at the beginning.

They're bringing in names hoping someone watches as the original cast may have lead to cancelation
Everytime there's a cast people don't like it's all of a sudden "close to cancelation". People have been saying that for years and the show is still kicking.
I remember Susie mentioning in a podcast that she feels that Sarah still needs closure which is why she thinks she'll eventually return in some capacity.

I wish they'd do a podcast and explain but after Skye humiliated herself with saying she knows everyone hates Josh and not in a good way but she'll continue casting him cause she likes him, I'm sure she'll never do another one again.
