When Averey did her interview with Mike Lewis a couple years ago, she said that she just handled Leroy's injury like an adult because he came to her that day almost in tears because he was certain they were gonna get sent home. His regret made her accept it easier, particularly because it was such a stupid injury he got doing chickenfights in the pool. Plus she expected another invite after the unfairness of the DQ, but she never got a follow-up call post Rivals III.
Her and Leroy became friends from that. She was more upset with the situation, particularly that Devin and Cheyenne were given a second chance over her and Leroy a week later when Leroy felt a lot better.
And especially after the trainwreck start of the season where Brandon quit on Briana, Thomas quit on Simone, and Camila and Tony got DQ'd for fighting. They were in the dark about Devin and Cheyenne coming back until the rest of the cast started getting eliminated and let them know. She and Leroy fully expected with hearing how badly the season was going that they'd get flown back out for another shot during the season, even like a redemption-style elimination because the show had DQ'd 8 people (28% of the cast) in six episodes.
I hope this cast tries to win over the OG fanbase (aka Potato and me) by protecting Flora at all cost. Heck I might even become a Nicole fan if that comic book lizard protects her.

agreed. this is called "The Challenge: All Stars" not "The Real World/Road Rules Challenge" saying Flora, Jasmine, or Averey are more deserving to be on All-Stars than Kam bc they were on different original shows is ridiculous

Averey handled Leroy's DQ on Rivals 3 really gracefully and they became friends. I fully expect her to be working with him and Kam.
