No--they were voted in--it wasn't based on performance.
What about the Duel? It wasn't based on competition but was based on the social game, which is just as important.
The Duel is still "they were voted in"--it wasn't last place goes in. That is completely different than if you don't try or finish last you pick your opponent. It's not even close to the same. I've said here for probably over a decade any time anyone suggested that it was the worst idea ever. Not changing that because production tried to prove they're bigger idiots than we even thing.
