does anyone know why the challenge even has recurring cast members when other shows like survivor/BB do fine with fresh faces each season? with very few exceptions i'd rather not see the same ppl play a game that i've seen them play before. but maybe thats just me.
I think the primary reason for this is because The Challenge doesnt have any real concrete structure to it. There arent any set rules, they dont have firm regulations. The Challenge runs on a basic outline of a competion show format, but it isnt well- developed.
Look at Survivor in comparison: You know you're gonna have 2 or 3 tribes that will swap and then ultimately merge. You have general camp life and 2 challenges per episodes that largely governs how you progress the game. Tribal Council is a good vessel to determine who is eliminated. Survivor has immunity idols and other advantages to make sure gameplay isnt overly stagnant. And they have a system to pick a winner that mostly works well for everybody.
The Challenge doesnt have any of that, so for 20 years+, theyve rested their laurels on recurring cast members being the rodeo clowns to Production's 3-ring circus. Cast members have to be Emmy winning drama actors instead of just interesting people on a reality based show.
Did you guys see the trailer for the challenge war of the worlds? They show scenes of Laurel Kam CT and Kyle. Maybe they will be back as a team which seems like a really strong team.
This is the most delusional thing you've said. Josh is the worst thing to happen to the show since...well there's a lot of options but he's the biggest issue with the show currently

They specifically said the CBS winners would go on to challenge vets and winners from the international shows IIHC

I'll give this season one thing. The absence of Josh automatically gives it a boost because that sniveling manchild was just unwatchable. He was by far the worst of the friendship group. I am honestly shocked they didn't reach to high heavens to cast his ***.
Honestly, I prefer Josh to Kaycee because at least Josh does something and you KNOW he's going to go home in an embar***ing fashion. Kaycee is just gonna be boring all season and probably make the final again.

I think its time to become a kaycee stan that girl is not only liked by production even when shes boring as hell but she is going to her 4th final in a row without much opposition like always. Plus the entire cast likes her too and shes decent in eliminations just by her size alone she's never going to leave early in these seasons.
Kaycee really isn't very big she's like 5'8 135 pounds
She got a little meat on those bones but she isn't flinging around any of these girls like rag dolls in something physical unless their name is Nurys Nany or Michele
