The Real World Homecoming: New Orleans - Season 3

As of now, Miami, Vegas 2002, Austin and Key West are still in the running for a future homecoming

I hate to say it, but I don't think Boston will ever happen. I could see Seattle & Hawaii happening at some point

As it should....as far as I'm concerned All Stars is the main show.

This is how I feel. All Stars 1 & 2 have been way better than any of the recent main challenge seasons IMO. I think that All Stars 3 is the first season where the entire cast is only Real World and Road Rules cast members since Gauntlet 2? DA must be happy lol

I love this season already. I literally died when Julie asked Melissa "why did you vote me off that challenge?!?"

You just know that the one thing that's been playing on her mind the past 20 years

She asked that? Lol she reminds me of a vevmo games player

Lol I think she asked more to try to show Melissa that Melissa did her wrong too. Melissa basically said she told her then why she did it which Melissa absolutely did.

I have been really enjoying this so far, and I didnt have much interest in it originally. I watched new orleans when it premiered but I was pretty young and alot of stuff went over my head. It was wild to see what Paul actually looks like in the throwback clips, I look forward to seeing how him and Danny interact.

julie is a mess, we need her on AS4 for sure lol. Although Idk how well she will be received from fans based on that preview of her accusing Tokyo of giving her bruises when he was just helping her

The new episode was good?

oh we gettin paul next ep. it's gonna be good

I was on the FLOOR for every single Julie/Melissa interaction. I knew miss Julie would DELIVER

Just watched the first two episodes and so far, I'm not thrilled with it. It's a step down from the starts to season 1 (beautifully nostalgic and brilliantly shot) and the epic season 2 (some of the best reality tv in years). And maybe I'm just not as enamoured with Julie in this state as others seem to be.

I see people are feeling Tokyo (David). Well, he has always been more interesting than given credit for. He's talented as hell too.

Melissa is the original confessional queen and is going to be naturally funny regardless but comes off as not wanting to be there. So no, Julie, she doesn't want to be your friend. I wouldn't either but I would be forgiving.

What Julie did to Danny sounds even more effed up. smh. Danny, btw, seems like a broken man to me. Let's talk about the flashback of him on a red carpet where he is honest with a reporter about not being happy with the fame. He lives secluded in a cabin now. I hear about those castmembers who go off the grid, so to speak, because they did have a PTSD-like experience after their show aired. This season was very popular. I was reminded about how they were everywhere in 2000, especially Melissa.

I totally forgot about Melissa being on Girls Behaving Badly, I loved that show lol

Yep. Her and Chelsea Handler. I would have put Melissa on hella shows. That girl was a star. lol.

What was that show about?

It was a prank show. Very funny.

Julie drunk at the gay club was the cutiest thing ever, i dont care what the other roommates say.

Julie randomly in a prom dress trying to bathe with David might be one of my favorite tv moments.

The Paul reveal was so weird but cool. For 20 years he was a blurry face. It's crazy/sad to know how recent those consequences were for being gay in the military. The flashback of Obama made me sad, it's been too long since there's been a decent human in the White House. SUPER excited to see Paul next week. I hope this gives Danny closure because you can't just tell how sad he is as a person.

Drunk Julie...she's a new(ish) drinker and as a mom probably doesn't get wasted a lot. She wanted to have a good time. Everyone has a friend or has been the person who drank too much and acted a fool. David was overly involved though. She's a grown woman, just leave her ***. I get he was trying to be a good friend and carry her out but the minute she says stop, you stop. That should have been productions problem and they obviously should have cut her off. Melissa was waiting for the slightest thing to happen in order to still carry on a ******* 22 year feud. She's clearly taking this and running with it.

Just finished this episode.

- I hope they're not over editing things too much because I hope we're getting the uncut interactions between Julie & Melissa, I'm invested in this but I hope production doesn't interfere with it's portrayal.

- That was an okay episode, I think Danny needs to understand that he didn't choose to be at the front & center and being forced into his role as the gay man of this season. It's okay if you choose to retreat and live whatever you may deem a happy & okay life. Let's normalize that reality tv stars do sign up to have their public life in display but they can do whatever they want, we shouldn't have to hold them to a higher standard or expect them to become the spokesperson for whatever issues they take on.

- The Danny/Paul storyline is a snooze but it's important to understand how impactful minimalizing lgbtq+ or not allowing them to live under the same rules as heteros is important.

- Waiting for Matt to talk about homosexuality, seeing he chose to stay home and just the vibe I get it seems like he ain't about it but seems friendly and respectful with Danny.

- It was fun to see a bit of Jamie. I don't foresee him being the center of any episode or moment, he really is just an easy to vibe with and chill person. I'm not going to hate him for it anymore.

- I love Tokyo, love his approach to this and it feels very sincere/genuine. My favorite, once again I got Beth Anthony vibes.

- Danny I don't care for, I don't know why but I just don't. I don't dislike him or anything though.

- Sumn about Kelley is just...me no like. And I get it, she's there for Danny so I can't knock on her for it. Watch this space tho.

- I love Melissa, I understand why she's being so guarded and I hope she comes around. It feels like something is holding her back with this situation being so present and understandably so.

- The beginning of this episode felt like a more genuine Julie, glad she took accountability but the way she acted on episode 1 was just...weird as **** and I stand by that. Also let's not blame being religious/sheltered for your behavior at the club, just own it that you wanted to go hard as ****. That's all.

That wss probably the most boring episode so far overall from all seasons, not like hating but I just wasn't like very into it.

I have a feeling every episode is going to end with a Julie cliffhanger based on these first two episodes, lol.

I like that Julie is trying, but there's still so many Karen undertones (and overtones) to her that some of it is very cringe. I loved when Melissa was super mature during their conversation and when she was finished with it she's just like "I'm done," but not in a disrespectful way.

I can't believe we're getting Paul back, but it does seem like something production was really pushing for.

Julie being a late bloomer in terms of drinking is hilarious.

I've never really liked Matt (saw him on the Gauntlet) and he's doing nothing for me so far. I'd rather watch Kelley watch paint dry than him doing anything.

Julie is a quirky personality and she came in this house knowing everyone hated her so she was just super uncomfortable. Y'all reading too much into it. Also, if you don't start drinking till later in life you don't have the tolerance most people built.

Rankings after episode 2

  • Julie
  • Jamie
  • Melissa-she's super annoying about Julie so funny too.
  • Matt
  • The rest are too blah and boring tv for me.

    Lol

    Julie that high equals pitiful

other than julie, season is flopping for me

problem with this season compared to first 2 is that I could see this "reunion" being settled in like a 2 hour reunion special not needing 2 weeks. Like basically the Melissa/Julie talk is over. It's clear they aren't going to fight the rest of the season in a big way.

Whereas NY and Hollywood you could tell people were getting more under each others skin the longer it went on.

I sense the same thing happening with an Austin reunion. A scene like Wes/Johanna will just be solved in like a 4 minute scene and then there's no drama the rest of the season. Danny Melinda basically talked or whatever in BOTS. There's no real conflict with these casts after a discussion. I see why production was trying to stir things up later bc they kinda ran out of topics already

I agree with Camille this season just isn't as good. But it has some huge shoes to fill after LA which I agree was some of the best reality tv in history. But don't get me wrong it's still good. The premiere was strong but this latest episode was just eh. Then next episode Julie starts blaming "the black person for her bruises"? When Tokyo was just trying to help her. Julie is the type of person you can't help. What a mess of a human being she is. I don't find her enjoyable to watch and I just felt embarrassed watching her in that club.

Which NY do you watch? The one I watch the only conflict we got was Becky other than that it was the Brandy Bunch

yeah I guess, just felt like there was more build up to that moment and we didn't get most interesting thing in E1 like New Orleans.

I just liked ny better bc it was first "homecoming" but it'd probably be seen more boring for like S4 or 5 of this

Melissa is just a real ass bitch. They don't make them like her anymore on these shows....I don't see the issue with her moving past the situation but still not really ******* with Julie. It's obvious that they are two different people & wouldn't mesh well regardless.

I've always liked David & he's better than me bc I would've left Julie's drunk old ass right there on the club floor.

Jamie & Matt are cool so far.

Now Kelley is the one that clearly doesn't want to be there. Just get the check & sit in the corner. You were boring back then, boring on BOTSeasons & boring now.

    I've never cared for Danny.

Julie lawd....I think she's stunted mentally & she needs to go to therapy to deal with whatever she's went through in her past that she's not telling folks. To be sloppy drunk at 40+ like that is more cringeworthy than entertaining & shows me she got some shit going on. Wasn't that her hooking up with Jamie in the hot tub with a whole ass family at home?

she already making the same mistakes she did 20+ years ago judging by next episode & the season preview and she's too batshit crazy to see it. Lol I'm trying to keep a clean slate with her (was definitely on Melissa & Coral's side back in the day) but I'm not ******* with how she's about to try David.
