I've grown to have mixed feelings on the Beware Advantage because at the very least, powerful idols aren't just hiding under every other rock anymore. Now there's actual risk to finding a beware advantage and actual consequences. Since they've completely given up on Exile Island, I guess I should be more thankful that they make idols more difficult for the individual, even if it's Big Brother levels of corny silliness.
there is absolutely no reason someone should be penalized for finding an advantage/idol on survivor. it makes aboslutely no sense.
no penalization if you're the third to find it. and it clearly states "beware advantage" too and you don't NEED to take it. they're only in play bc the people finding them are taking them. the whole concept could be null and void if nobody wants to take a "beware" advantage which to me quite clearly would indicate there's some sort of penalty incoming
after Jeff has screamed at contestants for years, "You HAVE to take risks and always go for things".
It is the stupidest idea in history. Imagine if Parvati or Russell found this and were screwed till the merge bc the other tribes couldn't find it? Of course if you find an "advantage' knowing 40 past seasons you'll take it.
I think this cast is so much better than 41. To be honest, we can blame producers when they tried to make a one woman show. Don't get me wrong, Shantel IS a Survivor legend and that's something we can all agree on but when you look at airtime for each player then of course you won't appreciate someone like Heather who got bamboozled in the edit. I think this cast will bring it, I hope I'm right.
I feel terrible for Marya, Jackson being removed screwed her too. Such a small tribe and it's hard to make a decision. I will say if this wasn't a 6 person tribe game to begin with then Marya would be fine. I wish it was the white girl going home but other than tweaking timster, nobody wanted to see a WOC go out.
I love Drea the most, something about her cutthroat and assertive ways honestly is so interesting to watch. You can tell she trucks everyone in her way in real life and hasn't had crashed into a wall yet. Now go get that ***** Tori out!
Favorites: Drea, Maryanne, Jonathan (shocker, ya'll know I don't root for this kind but he seems very sweet & genuine), Mike, Chanelle (I heard she's an ORG'er, she will be a player)
Middle: Rocksroy (king was doing perfect in episode 1 until he started giving directions around camp, wtf?), Jenny (girl, give me the real you not this nice lady for the cameras.), Romeo (kingie is playing so well!), Hai (my husband but we gotta do something about that vegan thing), Omar
Dislike: Lindsay (sis is looking rough as **** out there already, white does crack huh?), Swati (I have a lot to say about her but let's see how this plays out, not a fan tho. Sumn smells here and I think I'll be right about this one), the white cow from the green tribe.
We agree 100% on Drea but you know I live Tori too. I also like Lindsay, she just seems like the fun/chill coworker that you love hanging out with. I do think you might be right about Lydia, I can see her becoming unlikable. I'm still undecided Hai, I liked him the first episode but him crying over eating crab like come on. You knew what this show was prior and animals are designed to eat animals so shut up. But he can win me back next week.
Wrong. All Shantel screentime was earned and deserved..blame the rest of the boring cast for not delivering AFTER she was out. Everyone was boring and monotone. Every single person. Think about it. That ain't an editing problem, that's a lame cast.
what a good episode and great tribal. daniel absolutely shot himself tho, and will likely be the next to go.
i accidentally saw spoilers saying that jenny won this season. i liked jenny, but i'm SO glad they were wrong. going into a season knowing spoilers is trash

There's another set up spoilers that had Jenny going here so...
Someone posted a picture of Jenny at the wheel saying they know she's not going home which had me convinced that she wasn't going home until after the episode ended I realize that she actually went to the wheel on the premiere episode lol
Agree with KVM the twists ruined this episode and I'm remember why I hated 41 so much. We never even saw one tribe at camp did we? Is that a Survivor first? Every season was idol/twisted related except the pre tribal scramble. RIDICULOUS. Tribal was good but I wanted Jenny to stay she had 1000x more potential than Linda

the only spoiler i came across was jenny winning. whatever other spoilers may be out there, i haven't seen and i'm glad i haven't.
i think the twists made this episode good? without mikes beware advantage, and without the wheel of fate or whatever it's called, we wouldn't have gotten the tribal we got. sure it woulda been a more "normal" tribal but also not as good imo (despite lydia going home). both chantelle and omar also went against each other's word, ******* them both over, which again is the RISK they take when they risk their vote. it only effected them/the game bc they chose that option...
sometimes these twists work, i just think y'all either hate everything or are too invested lol. as a casual fan, this season is good. twists are playing out better than season 1.
It's just preference. I still like the cast and I'm not calling the season a wash. I love Survivor for the social aspect, strategy, and game. These advantages just popping up like whack-a-mole isn't my thing. I hate it. Not even seeing one tribe is trash to me. All the idol hoopla and extra/negative is trash to me. The tribal wasn't worth all the time dedicated to advantages and twists. Next week looks better though. I still have hope for this season because the cast is fantastic.
Well as far as I know these advantages are absolutely nothing when it compares to Australian Survivor which I just quit watching after the last episode. I'd much rather people lose their vote because they decided to risk it in a dumb way (I'd never risk my vote on this show) vs 4 people voted out competing in a challenge at final 6 where 3 of them return, then an obvious rig advantage is given to one of them at an auction where they have the power to remove 3 PEOPLE from tribal council before the vote, and on top of that allow jury to make signals at the remaining players to confirm who actually has the idol and how many.
Personally, I think the twists are working better than last season. Players have played their shots in the dark, players are now seeing the consequences of risking their votes, Maryanne convincingly said her phrase and even made a cute story to go along with it, Mike is being smart with his (even if he got exposed tonight).
The hourglass twist when we get to the merge is the real question mark. I heard rumors that it was tweaked to make it more fair but I don't know that for sure. Hopefully they learned from last season.
Overall, I think this season is a huge improvement. I would even go as far as to say it's a great season even with the twists. A good cast and entertaining moments can save a season in spite of the twists.

Hate: Tori & Daniel

Girl, I love Shantel. I just think some pivotal moments not showing us others sucked.
Random but I hate when they start with 3 tribes.
I hate it when they do that too.
Hate this edit...100% convinced I'm going to be mad
Took 3 episodes for the twists to ruin this season. Hopefully Chanelle is the next to go for her decision
this tribal is crazy
I'll give Hai credit. He read Daniel and Chanelle perfectly
Okay--now I need Daniel to go next

Daniel might be my least favorite player ever ugh it is giving disgusting. Mary Ann or Chanel need to win this
Why? Chanelle is playing a horrible game. Marianne is likeable but we've yet to see her do anything strategic or game related.
We at least agree on Daniel--he needs to go asap

So yeah skip AU survivor if these twists get you mad cause... Whew I'm still pissed
Lol I'm glad I quit watching once Nina left.
Truly the most rigged thing I've ever seen on TV. The best player of the season was taken out due to all that riggage in a row.

Editing is better, twists are still unnecessary.
If they keep doing these twists next season Im probably checked out of Survivor for good.
Poor Jenny I really liked her
I really hate daniel
