Wow, the way production treated David. Asked to film him?! How disrespectful. FOR WHAT?!

I disagree bestie. Back then it truly was a documentary style type show, they wanted to document what happened when he left. He probably would have still got paid and it would have given him an opportunity to show  remorse. It might have even led to conversations with the roommates.

it's embarassing and disrespectful to even ask. the fact that they even thought it was appropriate to ask was crazy, i see why they cut it at the time.

you really think they'd end up filming ashley post SLA or even ask her about it?

With how sensitive this situation was, I'm just not sure if that was the right time to ask for that.

They put the real back in The Real World. Man, this was so raw and authentic. So sad what the show turned into and the frauds on The Challenge these days. Anyway, Beth is so obsessed with Tami liking her, it's so weird. Even on social media Tami doesn't follow her but she tries to post like they are best friends. I'm sure Tami sees right through Beth trying to use her to sell those knockoff eye lashes.

In my opinion Beth knows Tami will bring her engagement that's why she is want her to "like" her because it will benefit her.

beth is the OG opportunist, she was ahead of her time in the worst ways

Also, I'm NOT okay with how production ended Episode 1; I'm actually very annoyed & upset about that because people were ready to murder him on social media over his laugh even though it was wrong. Once again it "reiterated" for David to be the bad person when I feel like Tami & him were incredibly genuine in Episode 2. I'm not so sure about Beth S. & Irene.

Yeah, I didn't like it either but I do "get it".  It was a great way to ensure people would tune in for the second episode.

Tami is lowkey exhausting sometimes lol, but she has been like that.

Beth's confessional after Tami called her out in the balcony shows she doesn't understand what she failed on, it's not about siding with David.

lol she really is--she's amazing tv--great personality but sometimes...

I'd still take her over most people though

I'm gonna hold off a bit more to see how this plays out...but not siding with David. I just don't think this was handled properly and I feel bad that he's such an easy target whereas the others are kind of getting it light. I don't know, something just doesn't sit right about it with me.

Obviously not! They are not even showing the reasons why they send ppl home now days.

But keep in mind this was in 1993 and the second reality show that was done plus the first person be kicked off from one so they were learning to deal with that. At that time they were doing it as a documentary and it would make sense to keep filming him on his own during those months.

yea I wanna see how it gets to Tami having to call Reggie to the house lol

Yeah, holding off but I just have a hunch that something is just not right. Can't pinpoint exactly what it is right now, I may need to rewatch at some point. This was a lot.

Sidenote: David's daughter is beautiful and happy he has been blessed in other aspects of life. Including him surviving that accident.

With how sensitive this situation was, I'm just not sure if that was the right time to ask for that.

I get that, but like PR said it was documentary style and I think it was appropriate to ask. It also gave David the opportunity to show remorse and have a little redemption storyline. I mean I doubt he would have used that opportunity appropriately...but he could have.

The David is still out there liking shaddy  IG comments and tweets not understanding why Tami felt the way she felt

Am I the only one that doesn't think David is sincere?  I think Tami and Irene were sincere but I don't think David believes he was wrong at all.  He finds it funny which....

Beth is...she's just Beth.  I wish Dom and Aaron were there though.

I like Irene a lot more now than 30 years ago too lol

Yeah, I said on this thread Tami can be a difficult woman. She has a million different sides to her. I'm so used to her from watching her through the years. One thing I have learned is that when she is upset and smoking her ciggarette to cool down, that's not the time you want to pull a Beth and come at her with b.s. excuses. lmao.

I think David has innocent intentions and honestly thought they were playing so he just can't comprehend how it can be perceived any other way. I think he just wants to clear his name soooo bad and feels like he got a false prison sentence from it all. I think he's also unaware that it wasn't just that one incident that made people feel unsafe and provoked. There's no changing what he dealt with after the show, although with his behavior I think he would have been blacklisted from Hollywood for other reasons. However, he could have come into this and just apologized, said he understand, and explained his intentions and that he meant no harm. It could have been a nice little redemption to lead to opportunities but he's gonna fumble that opportunity real soon I feel.

Agreed completely.  Even David mentioning his daughter was "mad" at the women was just weird.

David also asking why Beth was willing to do this when she was scared of him back then.  Beth also agreed to do Sexes with him 9-10 years after The Real World so it didn't make sense

I had no idea Jon was still single. I assumed he had a wife and like 4 kids.

Ya'll feel like Irene was sincere? I didn't but genuinely like her.

I think she was. Any decent human should have been able to see how much that damaged him in many ways. Also, any decent human should now understand how terrible it is too make false accusations like that against a black man and the consequences it could have ESPECIALLY when it's a cop saying it. David might have had pure intentions, but he handled the aftermath wrong and Irene responded poorly to that. It seems like she understands that now and is remorseful of her words.

I could be wrong but she seemed sincere to me.  She feels bad about some of her actions but, at the same time, she believes David was wrong and only feels bad for the "I'll call the police" comment and refusing to speak with him.

Ya'll feel like Irene was sincere? I didn't but genuinely like her.

I'm sure she's sincere but I don't think she understands the weight of threatening to accuse a black man of rape.

KVM we are agreeing too much! I'm not ok with it lol.

Maybe that's what I'm trying to say. I really need to watch again, it's so interesting.

I think she thinks (lol) that she understands the weight of it.  Whether or not she can understand it is probably the discussion.  With her time on the force I'm sure mentally she understands it.

No matter how it was handled.....David still sexually assaulted the girls twice in one night

Agree strongly with that first sentence. And even though he says in the episode he is no victim, I still think he believes he was. I'm sure he's happy with this episode being out. But as Tami said, one situation, two different perspectives (actually more than two).

But I saw him in an interview a few years ago saying that wasn't the only reason he got kicked out. He was starting fights with everybody and that was the straw that broke the camel's back. His main point of contention seems to be with the word "rape" thrown around. On that, I think he's valid. And I actually believe Irene comes off worse than Beth S in that respect with the "I'm going to call the police and scream rape!" (while she was a cop at that) and that unseen footage was a really bad look. I realize she is embarassed now.

Wow I finally saw the episode and I cried so much lmao. I actually think everyone was sincere to an extent. I think David was sincere when he was apologizing to Tami, he truly felt bad. But only because of the body dysmorphia, I still don't think he understands how wrong that would have been whether she had that or not. I love how he was so forgiving though, because rape is a serious accusation. It seems like everyone understood the magnitude of that, and was able to have a beautiful healing moment. That unseen footage got me, so heartbreaking.
