The Real World: Homecoming Los Angeles - Season 2 (Paramount + Original)

I'm watching the trailer for this season for the 100th time and even the aesthetic of this season is so much better than the first. I suffer from seasonal depression and watching NY made me feel it all over again. All those depressing feelings when I used to live there came right back during the first Homecoming. The dreary snowy and rainy mornings where I'd just stay inside all day not doing anything but watching Vh1 and I Love Money Marathons. This season we get the beautiful tall palm trees, shots of DTLA and the beautiful beaches of Venice Beach in the opening clips. A wedding on a yacht, beautiful blue wAters. The whole mood is just more uplifting for me to watch as once again I sunk into a depression this week as the weather changed. It almost feels like a Bravo Housewives trailer but with better drama. Thank you L.A.!

Dam the two replacements were yt too? This show started the formula of 2 token poc and the rest yt.

NY homecoming also was in the midst of covid which was depressing. It's still going on but less so

I never watched original but sounded like the roommates picked who joined??

This was the mess I wanted and needed in my life!!

First what is YT?  This season didn't have two POC it had 3. Irene being the first Hispanic person on the show. Add in an Irishman and they were pretty a diverse group. Especially for 1993.

The roommates only picked Glenn. They chose from a black guy who ran track at UCLA and Italian guy who worked with L.A.' homeless youth (he argued with Some of the roommates in the interview and seemed like a smart ***) and Glen. The roommates chose Glen. Beth A. Was sent by production they didn't choose her. Tami made the comment that she thought the new roommate would be black.

Irene's new job is an MLM for a product that doesn't have much scientific backing. Hope she makes her way out of it.

Oh no...she is one of those?

tami did an episode review

Some takeaways:

•she came in with her guard up when they originally filmed their season but this time she wanted to be more authentic and share more with her castmates

•When Beth and Irene both said they sent DM‘s to her and they went unanswered, Tami asked them to pull up the receipts and they couldn’t

•The moment David got into the house, she pulled him aside and she gave him an apology. It was filmed but cut, so she felt a certain way about them not showing her apology

•She said that "I’ll give you a pass" to him because at that point they were already arguing for two hours over it and she was just frustrated because she showed him empathy but she didnt feel that he showed her any

•She walked away and thought Irene and beth would chase after her, but Glenn and Beth A are the ones that went and comforted her. She felt that people were too focused on trying to clean up their own reputations regarding the david incident, instead of recognizing the new information she just shared about her body issues and showing her empathy. This made her put her guard back up to them.

Tami stans rise up

I know this is 4 days old but Tami was on The Real talking about her body dysmorphophobia and I cried. I don't watch her reality shows so I knew her face but nothing about her and assumed she'd be doing too much like most housewives but she's so deep and complex. I loved hearing her story

Tami for All Stars 4!

Loving all the Tami love <3 Queen is still relevant after 30 years in the industry, that says alot

David made a mistake, way back when, and  I think the fallout has sort of f***ed him up, but I'm FAR from a fan of Irene, with her wannabe "Captain Save-A-Hoe" a** (Oh, "I hate seeing it, because of the  things I didn't do..." Exactly. You didn't do shit, Irene. BETH did something, covered Tami up, but you sure were happy to get on a soapbox & pile on after). I mean, she was in law inforcement, and in '93 she threatened David with calling 911 & only screaming, "RAPE!!" into the phone. As a Sheriff's deputy at the time in 1993, her position in law enforcement would have become an unfair thumb on the scales of justice, as cops would be likely to  believe a fellow officer rmore blindly without evidence or proof), but it would ALSO be illegal - pursuant to California penal code 148.3 PC "Making a False Report of an Emergency."

Damn he came with the California penal codes and everything

LMAO

Thats why I never liked Irene. She had it out for David after their blow up in the bowling alley when David called her a midget.

I think Irene also didn't like him because David choked Jon out a few weeks before in an unseen moment that has been mentioned several times. They definitely went overboard with how they handled the situation but let's not act like David was a saint either. She has more than enough reasons to not like him just as the others do, and I think she feels bad about her role in the situation and the rape thing (I'm guessing/hoping they'll continue talking about it more in depth next episode)

First episode is up on YouTube for those who don't have Paramount.   https://youtu.be/skDHbZmw35c

I finally watched the first episode and...

I understand David has been mad about that for nearly 3 decades but he still doesn't get it and then laughing...

Just yikes.  He should have simply taken the pass and moved on.

Highly recommend for people to give this a listen. It gives a much better understanding of her POV, and talks about important things that were not shown.

Yea they edited out a lot of stuff that they shouldn't have. I don't know why they're doing this on a platform like Paramount. It's not like they have to stick to the 40 minutes to allow commercials. I love any interview with Tami she just has the gift of gab.

Anyone else notice how this cast completely shuts Beth S. down?  On Challenges she's known as a bully shit stirrer always in the drama but with this cast she's so different. You have Glenn who called her a B and said he hates her, Dom and Aaron were always picking on her, David drags her for filth telling her she deserves the big *** hairy pimples on her face, spitting in her face, from watching the trailer seems to get into it with her again "I'm glad I'm not your husband" and asking her what she told Tami in the restroom that made her flip on him during the Blanket Incident and asking her if you don't feel safe with me then why the F am I here now?  Then Tami who just completely shut Beth down in the premiere and even asked for receipts of those DMs that were supposedly sent. That part was edited out. It's so weird to see Beth so subdued around a group of people but this L.A. cast is a bunch of monsters who know how to put her in her place.

this is getting more engagement than the first one so let's hope this continues ❤️

Holy shit I thought things were about to die down but production got messy and gave us another "Incoming Message"!  They're so wrong for that it resulted in a F U from David to Beth and Irene. This season is too good. I can't believe what I'm watching!

Not Beth saying David attacked her appearance accompanied by the "that's why you got them big *** hairy *** pimples on your face because you deserve them" clip!  I am loving all of this.

oh Shit not Tami telling Beth to not come up here with that bullshit. OMG I just can't with this cast they're perfect!

The tricky part with getting people to agree to these shows is that they do this "unseen footage" aspect from like 20 years ago. Anyone who got offers to do this watching S2 I dobut will want to ever do this.

Tami and David are both so interesting to watch. They come across so genuine trying to work through all this meanwhile I'm beginning to realize why people have issues with Beth on the Challenge. Tami is probably too big for all stars but david could be fun.
