The Real World: Homecoming Los Angeles - Season 2 (Paramount + Original)

Ok, on to the last 10 minutes. That was so uncomfortable the way David was laughing, it gave me real Joaquin Phoenix in the Joker vibes. After Tami said she was fine to move on all he had to say was, "Everyone was laughing so I thought we were just having fun, my intentions were to never make you feel uncomfortable, I misread the room with the laughter and I'm sorry any pain it caused". This has clearly haunted him for years and instead of fixing his wrongs he made it so much worse. Now a whole new generation is just going to find him psycho and creepy.

Ugh I only got to watch half before I had to leave to work but so far so good. It does feel like Tami is just there for the check and doesn't really care about being there. That first Beth S and Tami interaction was awkward. Lol Beth trying to make a storyline about Tami never responding to her messages and Tami is pretty much "girl bye" haha

I know Aaron wants nothing to do with this but it would have been nice if they had Dom send a video updating us on his life and stuff at least.

100% Aaron didn't want to do this show because he knew he'd be shredded to bits on social media being a Republican in 2021.

Which is sad and shows how hateful and awful liberals have become.

It's not that simple. The last five years was a very bad time to be a Republican and basically if you couldn't bring yourself to denounce Trump, you were basically being complicit. It's not like "liberals" (wrong term to use btw) just randomly hate Republicans out of the blue. There's a very long and ugly history between both parties and boiling it down to one side just being awful is taking away accountability from the other.

I've voted along both party lines and will continue to do so based on each candidate and election. I don't belong to either politcult. Both sides are hypocritical, but Republicans have disagreed with my votes and stances but never made it personal. Liberals, progressives or whatever you want to call them have made the most low, foul, personal attacks when I voted the otherside. They are literal mini-Trumps spewing hate which is why Aaron, Sean, and Rachel wouldn't do this...and it's sad.

I feel like this show only works if you watched the original seasons, but ill give it a try

Not at all. They do a really good job of showing flashback clips when introducing people and bringing up topics, so anyone will get it. I never watched the first season of RW and I was able to get a good understanding of the peoples past and present with Homecoming.

Aaron wasn't even that extreme back then. By today's standards, he seemed moderate. PR suggested there are also things going on with his business that he might not want attention drawn to.

I think seeing the original season first makes the Homecoming far more poignant to watch though.

David did not come into this experience with an open mind but instead a mission to  justify his actions and victimize himself. I believe he went through a tough time after, and his life was messed up because of that moment, so he was set on proving that he isn't this person because clearly it's still eating at him to this day. He should have been open and understanding, and that would have potentially cleared his name a little. But no he was dead set on his mission and just had to make it worse. That creepy laugh was disrespectful and unsettling...

^^^100%. He could have apologized and said he thought they were just playing and it was funny and he never meant to hurt anyone. Then the rest of the series he could have rebuilt relationships and redeemed himself. He just made himself look 100x worse. I think there are some serious mental issues going on there though, sadly.

Agreed and it seemed like he was going to apologize after Tami opened up about her body image issues, then it all of a sudden flipped like that?! Definitely mental issues.

I think the stress of the show and the backlash he got might have contributed to it. It was basically a whole *** villain origin story. He thought they were joking, then he got kicked off and accused of sexual ***ault, then his revenue and bookings went down the toilet. All that can cause a lot of stress to your mental health.

David didn't come there to apologize though. He said he was there expecting apologies. And he claimed he wanted redemption, but being him, he only made it harder for himself.

He could have maturely given his perspective and then the castmates could have discussed the nuances of the situation (like Jon saying he's embarassed he was part of it). There are people on his side who feel it was overblown and unfair for him to have the word rape attached to his name and lose his career over this. But cackling at the clips made him come off crazed.

I think for him, he's the victim and there can't be any other discussion. Looks to me he's had a harder time healing than Tami.

Who else agrees that the season trailer for this was better than the last 5 seasons of The Challenge combined?  How did this group manage to have so much drama in so little filming time?  https://twitter.com/annatorres69/status/1463579063923130371?s=21

This. Actually, Tami revealing the real reason she was upset probably made him more frustrated because he's thinking, "all this time my life and career potential was ruined and it turns out you reacted that way because of an issue I had no idea about." So if anything, I think that further fuels him feeling victimized about the situation.

Damn that was a good *** episode. It's hard for people to make amends when both still feel they were the person wronged. I'm also shook Irene is getting married on the show again! Sooo crazy. Love Beth A and I appreciated Tami being honest af cuz I knew she never planned on seeing any of 'these people' again lol Tami always gave the impression that she didn't like talking about the show or even acknowledging that she was part of it prior to the homecoming. Seems triggering for her and like she hoped she would put it behind her for good after gaining fame from Basketball Wives.

But yeah, it was messy from the very beginning just like the original season was and I love that. Some of them genuinely just do not click lol

It almost felt like Tami dislikes beth more than anyone on the cast including David

this is insane!

watching to see david from LA, and seeing Julie and Melissa beefing, Mark talking about being in his 30's and saying how the young guys (Yes and LT) are doing too much.

For now. I remember on the show Tami really hated Glenn and Beth A.  And she is shown at least 3 times arguing with Glenn in different previews.

my guess is beth has been trying to use Tami for clout or tagging her in too many pics for years and tami has been over it

Thoughts:

-Tami clearly is not a fan of Beth being thirsty in interviews over the years and her challenge persona. In the real world reunion, Tami asks Beth to her face why Beth said in an interview that Tami married her husband for the money and Beth tells her don't believe everything you read in print rather than owning up to it and apologizing. Beth saying this was on a radio show so the print was just a quote from something that said verbally. Beth trying to start Homecoming by bringing up the lack of replies just proves Tami's point that Beth is thirsty and sets things off on the wrong foot. The right way that Beth could have handled it was saying hey look I realize you haven't gotten back to me over the years and that you are upset with me and I want to apologize and start with a clean slate rather than act like she has no idea why Tami hasn't been getting back to her or that Tami is in the wrong.

-let's not forget that the blanket incident was the tipping point for the house having had enough with David and his behavior in the house picking fights and almost getting into a physical fight. It is not like the blanket incident was the first time the house had had enough of him. David saying oh they were laughing fails to take into account any of his behavior leading up to that point that would make him a bad housemate and lead to the housemates wanting to evict him.

-it is extremely poor decision making by Viacom CBS to premiere this right before Thanksgiving. It is well known in the industry that shows that have new episodes on linear TV the 2 days before Thanksgiving have lower ratings since less people are watching as they are traveling or dealing with other matters. To think that this was a good premiere date is something else.

Glenn really asking about what's wrong with claiming to not see color? What an ignorant man. He should think about his media sources if he truly doesn't know and also take it upon himself to Google and educate himself. It is not on Tami to educate him

Still one of the best episodes of the Challenge ever. Anytime David is involved something extreme is about to happen. Spit, ripping Beth's top off and whatever is about to happen on Homecoming.

They have a history. I thought Tami was about to bring up Beth saying Tami married Kenny for money at the 96 Reunion but again, they seem to be ignoring that event like it never happened. I believe that's the last time Tami saw Beth so they left off on bad terms. Beth said she hadn't seen David since the 90s but they seem to be ignoring The Challenge with that statement. David ripped Beth's top off at the pool on Challenge 99 and in 03 David spit in Beth's face on Battle of the sexes. So their relationship is always so volatile but they didn't talk about any of if. That's the only thing I didn't like. Them acting like this stuff never happened.

For Glenn about seeing color, here's a video for you to watch in full -- https://youtu.be/F2xv4fba65U

I always thought Tami, Beth, and Jon were super close on the show. Guess that didn't last between Tami and Beth lol.

Jon did absolutely nothing to take advantage of his move to Los Angeles in the first real world. Even Beth is surprised when she asks him if he's performing much in his time in LA and he says nope. It's almost like he expects someone to just hand him a record deal and doesn't understand that you have to work really hard with the opportunities you are given. I don't see too much different nowadays. It seems like he just expects homecoming to lead to a big break and talks over and over and over about how he sang the words true story for a fourth of a second in the intro to the show 30 years ago which is irrelevant. Like. I don't know if it's a privilege or something but if you want it work for it.
