6 figures is still cheap for production for content. Think what it costs to film a series. Actors are far more expensive. 6 figures could be 10k per episode.

it hasn't really been all that exciting for me regardless once i ripped the tiny bit of nostalgia off of it. i had an image in my head of what this was gonna look like when it was announced so i've never really been satisfied.

I feel you. I personally liked the first season but just because you didn't doesn't mean I should start an argument with you. I think for me I was more caught up with the nostalgia of the first season. I started hating the regular challenge and All Stars was a good alternative to the main show. I think I made myself believe it was more amazing than it was. How do I know this? Well I've yet to go back and rewatch All Stars again and for me the sign of a really great season is when I watch it more than once.
