The Real World: Homecoming Los Angeles - Season 2 (Paramount + Original)

Wait how do they have the budget to pay $100k? If they're paying that nobody should decline lol

First season each got 100k second and third are very likely getting more if they don't pull a Becky lol

Why are people shocked by them getting paid $100,000 but not by the cost of All Stars? This show is a brilliant idea financially. Paramount+ gets the original content they so desperately need. They got a ton of coverage from the first season and they got an Emmy nomination. They film for a week so production costs are low and get at least 6-7 weeks of content. All stars has a 500,000 prize, has to pay a lot more than 7 castmastes (less money but more people) build stunts and pay a crew for a month not a week. Without knowing the ratings for either  Homecoming sounds like a bargain compared to All Stars.

Couldn't find it, but I think someone on this thread was asking about the first multi-cast RW reunion (NY, LA, San Fran and London) that aired on MTV in 1995. Someone uploaded it to Youtube with the original commercials. Enjoy!

Omg! Thank you so much! I was looking for it

I love you for posting that! Thank you!

Some thoughts:

-I'd heard before Judd went off on Puck and said "what did you say after Pedro died, Puck?! You said good riddance!" If Puck did, it just further shows he's the POS disgrace of a human being I always saw him as. I loved Mohammad on this. I was hoping he'd smack the sh'@ out of Puck not just the cap.

- Tami's explanation for being uncomfortable with Beth A. being a lesbian because she couldn't think of her not having HIV doesn't make sense. Working at an AIDS clinic she should know lesbians are the least likely to get it. Seemed like the audience wasn't feeling her. lol.

-NY cast the classiest and most family-like.

-Aaron and Dom as usual wanted no part

- Peep feisty Irene telling Puck to pick himself out of there. lmao.

holy crap I never realized it was online. Definitely going to watch this. Anyone have the 2000 reunion with the Miami, Boston,Seattle and Hawaii casts?

Pink, are they going to give a green light for season 4? They should be able to get a couple more full casts to participate

San Diego 2 or St Thomas for season 4!

Just finished the 96 reunion. Crazy how many times I watched it as a kid. I haven't seen this in years and I still had a lot of the dialogue memorized. I always loved Legend's, the dog from London, name I always wanted to name my pet that name. lol at cringy Beth flirting with Mike from London and him politely removing her hands from him.

Yeah, what the hell was Beth doing? lol. That poor man.

Chavo, Heather B may have been a little too direct in saying to Tami's face that they were fake on the season, but I definitely think some of the LA cast were being fake at that reunion. I think they got backlash at that time over the David situation. Tami apologizing over dinner with Kevin in the middle, and then them hugging out onstage. It didn't look like they were being genuine about the situation, Mohammad was right.

I think on this Homecoming the real wounds will come out and not that fake display we saw because they were surrounded by other casts and audience members who criticized them.

Ace would have traded spots with Mike in a second lol

I just finished rewatching the LA season for the first time since the early 00s, and I may get flack for this, but Tami came off annoying and selfish too many times. I like her mostly, but having the other HGs feeling like they have to walk on eggshells around you always or you get upset isn't a good look. And she's always throwing her opinion around but no one can tell her theirs.

who was walking around eggshells for Tami tho? I mean Jon, Glen, Aaron, both Beths (to an extent), and obviously David all had their friction with her

When Beth A moves in the first thing everyone tells her is to be cautious of Tami, don't make noise, don't leave stuff around, don't wake her up etc. Beth A says everyone tells her to walk on eggshells around Tami and after she meets her she right away sees what they're saying, after the first thing Tami says to her is that she can't keep a radio on the bathroom counter because she likes it empty... Beth A then asks permission if she can keep her shampoo there and acknowledges Tami needs to be in full control or she loses it. Ummm no. Tami, you all live there, not just you. Why does everyone need to do what Tami wants?

They go rock climbing and Tami is too scared to go higher, so she attacks Aaron for no reason because she's upset and wants to make the person who is doing best feel bad.

Tami keeps disrespecting Jon's music and Glen's music because she doesn't like it, but if they question her about her girl group she doesn't like it. Then at the show she has the audacity to lip-synch after criticizing Glen and Jon both for their singing and talent. Even Dominic criticized her for that in his confessional and brought up that she lip-synched after talking so much trash, not showing talent with live singing like the others.

Her attitude toward Beth A being a lesbian was ridiculous. She is scared to give a hug to her because she's a lesbian? Imagine if one of the others felt that way about her being a black woman? She would lose it.

Dominic mentions how the people in Jon's town are making a fan club for him, and right away Tami has to put him down and tell him just because they're doing that doesn't mean he is anything outside of his town and he's pretty much a nobody. When he defends himself she gets upset and it becomes an argument.

there is more too.

Tami did not come off well after the L.A. season and she was considered the "B!t€h" of the season. Just go back and watch the reunion 96 and you can see this was her edit as she was shown to be a horrible person. Her relationship with Beth A. Is one I find so confusing and want to examine more. In addition to what the above poster mentions Tami is also shown fighting with Beth A. On the vacation in Mexico when she asks why her Beth S. And Jon are being ignored. Beth A. Says they walked into the bar and embarrassed them screaming "yee haw" and Tami just loses it on Beth proclaiming "I didn't say Yee Haw so don't say you all because I never said it". Beth immediately backs down and is at a loss for words. Then there's that ReAl World Vacations video that shows unaired footage and there's a scene where Tami starts yelling at Beth A. In the lobby in Mexico screaming "please just stop because I've had enough". I don't remember the background of that fight but it always seems like Tami had it out for her. I hope it wasn't because she is lesbian but I have a feeling that that's what it was. This is something I would love to see discussed on Homecoming and it should be interesting to see Tamis thoughts on Beth being married to a man now. But of course this will probably be left out of the show.

Considering Beth A’s main storyline was about being a lesbian, I can’t imagine them not acknowledging that to some extent, one way or another. I mean she was technically the first lesbian to ever be on reality tv. Btw Beth A is IMO one of the most interesting, peculiar people they’ve ever cast. Truly one of a kind; sweet, gentle, and more than just her sexuality. She just seems genuinely cool <3 and sexuality is fluid anyway so she better not get any shit for being married to a man now. She probably identifies as bi or pansexual these days cuz along with the years comes more vocabulary to fully encompass the broad spectrum of sexuality. I always thought she and Glen totally had some type of chemistry, seemingly beyond friendship at times

I want a London reunion only for the world to get Sharon to grace us with her presence again! Or just put her on All Stars 4 - even better <3 her 15 mob was an amazing experience to watch and listen too.  She's good friends with Becky too so I'm sure she hasn't heard much positives about coming back though lol

London wasn't even that boring. It just went back to its roots. Production wanted a "lighter" season after how heavy and dramatic the San Francisco season was, with Pedro dying hours after the finale aired to boot.

They cast personalities that were more obsessed with finding love and didn't have deep issues on purpose.

Then the next season after London went right back to the drama with Miami and a cast who all hated each other. Funny how London is sandwiched between two of the most dramatic seasons.

I prefer the lighter seasons personally lol I think that's why I hate current challenge seasons because it's heavy but feels fake heavy

What were the personalities in London like? I only know of Sharon’s fabulous cool ole self

Oh Tami is one difficult woman for sure. On Basketball Wives they got into her past more that explained why she is that way. Her daughters actually check her for being so dramatic. lol.

But she was not likable on the season. If you watch that reunion, notice after Puck, she seemed to be the most hated.

I did get the sense that Dom liked her.

Tami wasn’t as bad as y’all are making her out to be and I’m not about to let it happen. Yes she was moody and ignorant about the lesbian thing but she also really tried to bond with her roommates for the most part, even the ones she didn’t connect with ultimately (David mainly). She had a good relationship with Beth, Irene, Jon, and even Dom & Aaron (there seemed to be a level of mutual respect there). By the time Glen and Beth A joined she was probably just over it and not as enthusiastic about bonding with new people lol but let’s not act like she was anywhere near as bad as Puck. That’s a ridiculous comparison

about Basketball Wives, I mean that show is truly what she’s known and famous for. Her RW experience adds a layer of nuance to her that many have never seen before. If I had only known her from BBall Wives, I would’ve been surprised and even a little touched to see how down to earth and thoughtful she was on the real world despite a few moments here and there. I mean she worked at an AIDS clinic and grew attachments to her dying patients, was passionate about her singing and artistry... ngl those storylines made me view her differently. She’s a sweetheart and softie deep down inside was my biggest takeaway, and I think people are suscepted to misunderstanding her.

Dom is awesome. But I didn't like Tami on RW. A part of me did, but I see how she acts and it upsets me. She would be the one to start fights sometimes and then get mad if the other person defended themselves.  no.

Young, some sweet, some more cynical, ambitious and all wanting to find love. I liked Neil a lot, and found his negative outlook on Americans interesting. I also found it endearing how honest he was about feeling guilty when they went to Africa and he felt like they were intruding on the Africans. By the end of it he enjoyed it more and haD fun interacting with the tribe.

There is a whole episode dedicated to them making fun of and being mean to poor Sharon. She just brushes it off and keeps a positive attitude always. Loved her.

Tami was definitely a lot sweeter and surprisingly more calm in LA. Tami is a sweet girl and I love her. She has a strong personality and is confrontational and I love her for it. I've been a Tami Stan since day 1. For me Tami is LA. She did some crazy things but one thing I noticed during my LA rewatch recently is that Tami was showing going on dates with guys on STUDS and then as we all know she got an abortion. Has it ever been revealed who the father of the child was?  And later on we actually meet Tami's boyfriend, Pootie. So you mean to tell me she had a boyfriend with all of this going on?  This was so confusing, maybe the timing in editing was off but that's another thing I would like explained just for the mere fact that we see Pootie for all of one episode then Tami breaks up with him because they of course are fighting.

No, I'm saying after Puck she seemed to get the most hate on that reunion special and it's true.

One can love her as a tv personality, see the good in her, and still say she is and has always been a difficult and very complicated woman, you know. I've been watching her for years and she would be the first to acknowledge that.

And chavo, Tami was also dating Marlon Wayans out there. In fact, Jon said in a RW documentary he was on the phone during the infamous blanket drama and could hear everything.

Dom is awesome. But I didn't like Tami on RW. A part of me did, but I see how she acts and it upsets me. She would be the one to start fights sometimes and then get mad if the other person defended themselves.  no.

The second sentence sounds more like David. lol. Boy did he do that his entire time there.

I remember hearing that she was with someone famous during her time on the show. I wonder if he's the one that got her pregnant as that's around the time of the Blanket Incident.

Soooo hyped and excited for this!

Beth A has randomly become my favorite person upon rewatching this season. She's just so genuinely cool and unique <3
