I don't think he was never not had this schtick of "mastermind" it just almost never panned out for him since he tends be out of the house early. But the times that he last long, he always tried to be play into the Wes-lite genius.

He just owned up for his mistakes, still said Johnny is annoying to live with, still said he wanted Johnny to be understanding of his situation. That’s it. Most of that live was not about John. Whoever is saying he was begging to come back was obviously on drugs when watching the live.
